Very clean and friendly!
We stayed at this hotel this past July. Wow! Our room was a good size and kept very clean. It is an older hotel BUT it is perfect to stay in for the small town of Ansbach. The owner was friendly and accommodating when we needed to stay another night.
The breakfast included was good and fresh every morning. Remember, this is Germany, so it is not like Canada or the USA.
The only thing that was slightly disappointing was the Wifi limitations. For our 3 devices, it was not enough. We did stay for 7 nights though, so we ran out of Wifi by day 5.
We would love to stay here again when we return to Deutschland in 2019!

Friendly but charmless and some problems
On the positive side the management was very nice and friendly and after we checked out kindly hung a pair of pyjamas we’d forgotten on our car, to find when we came back from wandering the town. We were also given free parking in one of the hotel’s spots at the front of the building.
The room with breakfast was €110. The breakfast buffet wasn’t bad but we weren’t offered a boiled or fried egg as often happens in Germany and Austria.
The hotel, while perfectly adequate, was a bit dull - rather like Ansbach itself, some might say. Like many hotels in Germany, while the building is old, any antique charm the interior once may have had has been obliterated by renovating zeal. There are lots of tiles everywhere. Our room and the breakfast room were pretty charmless, although clean and functional. (Mind you, not having bedside lights was a pain - while our room including the bathroom was functional overall, the double bed had no side tables.)
Most seriously, the hotel is quite close to a railway line and noisy trains thundered nearby regularly throughout the night. We specifically asked about noise and were not only told there was no issue but strangely were given a room closest to the railway track. There are rooms that would be quieter (oddly they appeared to be empty, but we were not offered them). Therefore, when booking, make certain you stipulate a room at the back at the opposite end of the building to the railway track.

Home style comfort with a very pleasant host
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Zum Lamm. It is an older hotel but well maintained and very clean. The room (room 4) was a large room, with a very comfortable bed. It was in a great position to visit the Christmas markets at Ansbach, walking distance only about 2 minutes away. Our host was very pleasant, spoke excellent english, and was very knowledgable. He was happy to assist with all our enquiries. The breakfast was excellent, but get there early as the eggs went quickly, and we didn't see them replenished. Parking is available just down the street within easy walking distance. We had a few minor issues with the internet, but we managed to get access. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay.

Lovely quaint hotel
We stayed for 3 nights in December 2015 with another couple. Our room was not very big and the ceilings were a bit low but the room itself was more than comfortable. Our friends had a room at the front which was quite big. The hotel is not very large but it has a very homely feeling about it. Breakfast was included in the price and was more than enough to get you started for the day. "Eddie" the owner was so very helpful. He was more than happy to give us advice on where to go and the best places to eat. (Hint..you may need to book the restaurants he recommends as we had trouble getting in). We had a car which we parked out the front (pre reserved it). We were there while the Xmas markets were on, so the hotel was nice and close. We also drove to Rothenberg which was only about 40 klms away.

Miniature Hotel
I stayed in this tiny hotel for a very short period; two nights.
Positives:
- I had a TV in my room with lots of channels.
- It's a family owned business with very friendly owners.
Negatives:
- Breakfast choices were very poor: Boiled Eggs, Fried Eggs, a very small selection of cheeses and cold cuts, yogurt, muesli, fruits, bread, condiments, coffee and a wide selection of tea types and flavours. while this may seem a lot, the quantities were very few. 1st night: Only two boiled eggs on the tiny buffet. 2nd: no boiled eggs, only fried.
- No elevator. No staff to help with the bags.
