Beautiful and friendly place

Lovely place, I couldn’t wish for more. Great location just outside Järvsö so you are close to everything but still feel like you are in the middle of the countryside. Comfortable beds, friendly staff, nice breakfast, beautiful garden and courtyard. Would definitely stay again!

Extremely responsive. Every single person who walks by on the stairs echoes through the room, every conversation is heard!
Hence the failure!

Beware of the restaurant - always check ahead

There was never any stay when we had time to cancel. Three days before arrival we called to check the restaurant's opening hours during the weekend and today, two days before, we find out that we can not fit as it is fully subscribed. Even though we booked already in November. That may be the case, but if we hadn't checked before, we would have gotten black spits on arrival.
To not be bothered to announce the fact that they at all could not offer space in the restaurant in reasonably good time before is the bottom, we think, given that there can hardly be so many other guests who do not belong to the subscribing party. Having to go out into the winter darkness and look for another place to eat for four days straight didn’t feel good.
Luckily we got a place at a similar price at Järvöbaden instead despite short notice.

Nice Helsingegård that we can definitely come back to

Cozy and nice place that is beautifully situated with a view over Järvsö. Funny that they have saved so much of the environment from when it was a housewife school. Very nice owner family with good service and with nice and well-behaved dogs. We could definitely come back here again. Something responsive but nothing that bothered us. Nice with a glass of wine on the veranda.

Quality and fabulous welcome

There is a lot to say about Helsingegarden. It is a beautiful renovated farm like place which feels completely unique. The rooms are cosy, warm and have superb views. There is a communal area with a fireplace, games, magazines to chill. Meanwhile, the kids can play in the snow outside or sleigh on a nearby hill. There is also an independent kitchen, TV lounges and washing machine in each chalet so you can self-cater. There is also ski storage and dry out facilities so everything is easy.
Most of all, Helsingegardeman is superbly located. You just have to walk out the back door to have miles of countryside and in our case snow covered beautiful scenery. It is quiet with no cars around and we slept so peacefully. It is also only 5 minutes from the town and ski slopes. It really feels like a world apart anchored in the most spectacular nature.
But its the concept that attracted us the most. The owners are big foodies and breakfast and dinners are really special. Beef burgers are organic and the potatoes are locally sourced. In a lovely gesture, they also introduced us one evening to some fabulous cheese and delicious chutneys.
Its rare to find these days a place where the owners care so much about their guests but also sharing the best of their region. Malin, Andreas and their team do exactly that. They are passionate about their place, incredibly welcoming and warm and nothing was a problem. It was also great to see the COVID precaution measures being so rigorously enforced.
