Amazing view and helpful staff

I had a great experience at Maison Sifa Hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect. The view from.the room was stunning and the hotel garden is lush and beautiful. I’d definitely stay here again—highly recommended!

Horrible customer service in the middle of nowhere.

Stay away! While the place is clean and beautiful, it is not a professional hotel, and staff speaks very little English. Certainly not 4 stars. We arrived just before dark and asked about dinner. We were told there's no food available. When we asked where to eat, the owner directed us 40 minutes to the nearest town. We did not feel safe walking on unlit dirt roads, and informed him about this. His response was to laugh at us and say he doest promise food on the website, and that's our problem.
As we felt very unsafe we said we wanted to leave for another hotel that had a restaurant. We offered to pay 10% for the inconvenience, but were forced to pay in full before being let off the property. No level of beauty or cleanliness will ever justify such horrendous behaviour, and I can only wish you stay away from this horrific place.

A lovely relaxing place

Nice quiet hotel. Very few residents. Comfortable rooms and beddings. steady internet. Fresh food made on request. Breakfast served outside at the gazebo where one enjoys the natural setting. A lovely place to stay.

Charming tourist oasis on the outskirts of Huye (formerly Butare) Rwanda

This charming hotel is on the outskirts of Huye (formerly Butare) Rwanda, a university town in southern Rwanda. In a beautiful garden setting, the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The dining space is lovely, either in a gazebo set in the garden or an open covered patio. The staff is lovely, friendly, and professional. Food is delicious. Highly recommended if you have business in Huye (downtown and university are a 15 minute drive) or are touring in the area. An excellent ethnographic museum is very close by, as well as the former king's palace. The beautiful Nyungwe Forest is a couple hours drive away.

Nice but keep these things in mind

Pros: breakfast is really good, staff is kind and professional, rooms are clean and have access to hot water, garden is beautiful, it is quiet
Cons: the access road is very tricky and it's a bit hard to find, wifi isn't great (not always available and has a limit), our mattresses were really hard and for us uncomfortable, no dinner/lunch options, booked a twin room in advance and got a regular double bed + a bunk bed instead
It's not a bad place at all but for the price (90$ per night), I wouldn't go there again due to the cons listed above.
