We miss it already

What a marvellous place this is - you combine successfully a warm welcome to all - be they walkers and cyclists passing through or those visiting the area by car - with consummate professionalism.
You are fortunate in having a beautiful location, by the river and in the shade of lovely catalpa trees, but many others have that without the remarkable ingredient of such high standards which la Truite reaches across every area.
You are rightly proud of your team: those responsible for keeping the grounds so beautifully (including the sensitive hedge trimming to avoid the blackbird's nest - we noticed), those who keep the rooms and common parts of the hotel immaculately clean, those who provide such enthusiastic and energetic, as well as quietly efficient, service front of house - whether in reception, restaurant or bar - and those who toil in the heat of the kitchen to provide such excellent meals.
We look forward very much to our next visit!

Lovely hotel, excellent food, great spa facilities

Fabulous long weekend at this lovely hotel. The rooms were great, breakfast excellent, the food in the restaurant outstanding. We used the pool and spa, which were lovely.

Lovely Family Run Hotel with Spa

Beautiful location very friendly helpful staff excellent restaurant and relaxing pool and spa We were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and enjoyed our stay very much

High standard studios by the river

We had a studio apartment here. These apartments are in an annexe building by the Vers river which is lovely, but it’s across a road. The finish on the apartments is to a very high standard and the kitchenette was well equipped although no toaster. There is a nice balcony overlooking the river. The sound of the water is soothing at night and the road is quiet. There is a free self service laundry room in the annexe which was a welcome touch.
The bed was very comfortable and there is AC but we didn’t use it as it was cool; unfortunately some of the other guest did and there was a droning sound which went on and off. Fortunately this was the only noise nuisance.
There was not a huge amount of space around the bed area for sitting in and no comfortable chairs. That’s probably our main complaint – even in the bar there is only one sofa/arm chair and when we tried to get a comfy seat all 3 were occupied by one young man on a mobile phone.
We ate in the restaurant at lunchtime, the food is very good here. In fact the restaurant is the thing really, when it’s open they close the bar, although you can sit in the restaurant. The staff were all lovely and helpful. There is information about walking in the area available. You can walk from the hotel which is good.
There is a boulangerie in the village but otherwise there are no facilities except the hotel so you do have to drive everywhere.

Nous sommes ravis que vous ayez apprécié le studio ainsi que la grande terrasse au bord du ruisseau, c’est un plaisir de savoir que vous y avez passé un agréable séjour. Merci également pour votre excellente note et pour vos remarques constructives. Nous avons bien retenu les points à améliorer, notamment concernant l’absence de grille-pain, et nous essaierons d’y penser pour une prochaine fois. Nous vous remercions sincèrement d’avoir pris le temps de partager votre expérience avec autant de gentillesse, et ce sera un plaisir de vous accueillir à nouveau.
