The Maison des Algues offers cosy and unique accommodation located on the Isle of Rhé. It is 100 metres from the beach and has its own private swimming pool. From April to October, guests can enjoy free use of 2 bicycles per room. This is a great way to visit the beautiful surrounding area, where there is over 100 km of cycle paths. Guest rooms at the Maison des Algues are air-conditioned. They include modern en suite facilities, free Wi-Fi and satellite TV. Although the Maison des Algues does not offer a bar or restaurant, near the hotel there are plenty to choose from. Free on-site parking is provided and the swimming pool is heated from April to October. A spa area can be used by guests for free. A charging station for electric cars is available at this property. This property will not accommodate hen, stag or similar parties. Swimming pool #1 is closed from Mon 31 Oct 2022 until Sat 08 Apr 2023 Disclaimer notification: Amenities are subject to availability and may be chargeable as per the hotel policy.

Just lovely self catering, but no longer b&b

I read the glowing reviews and booked to stay here with my little family. The rooms are beautiful and the entire place designed with comfort and luxury fittings in mind.
Since last year there have been many alterations. Our room was a little suite really, with a sitting room (huge sofa bed) and brand new kitchen.
We hadn’t realised that the format had changed, so thought that the lovely reported breakfasts were included. They are not any more and the communal kitchen has moved and is much more simplistic - and unused by guests now.
The hosts are lovely, tolerating my very rusty attempts at French. We did not have a car and cycled everywhere on the bikes provided. This was easy, as the island is pretty flat. It was hot however, so we only made it as far up as Saint Martin.
There are a number of eateries in Rivedoux-Plage, which were mostly good. We never knew there was a large supermarket and only went to the basic little Carrefour. There is a small market every morning in the village - expensive, like everywhere here.
Locals were welcoming and pleasant.
Facilities are great and we had a very relaxing stay, thank you. Could have done with more information about the island and village. That would have been very helpful.
As it was hot, it would also have been great to have one linen change during the week. This was not offered and given the price for room only, we would have liked that. We washed our towels in the communal washing facilities and helped ourselves to clean ones.
Beach shoes, towels etc were supplied for guest use. Bikes were also included.

Charming Self Catering

I can highly recommend this delightful private self catering accommodation on the southern end of Ile de Re. Our first trip was delightful and memorable thanks to our attentive hosts who couldn't have been more welcoming. Our one bedroom studio "Salicorne" was on the end and featured a compact, well equipped high end kitchen diner overlooking the pool and garden.
Huge bed was very comfy, gorgeous shower and tub. One of those places where you can tell a lot of love and care has been taken with decor and finishes. Clean and lovely.
I'm picky and I wouldn't hesitate booking again. We both said this is where we would have chosen to be locked down if we couldn't get out of France!

It would be hard to overstate our enjoyment of la Maison des Algues. The apartment was large, well appointed and tasteful. La Maison des Algues sets itself apart with a level of service that can not be found elsewhere on Ile de Re. there is the pool, jacuzzi, bicycles and hosts who are gracious and helpful. We will return soon and hope to spend at least a week enjoying the best of the island life.

Wonderful B&B

Stayed 2 nights and had wonderful time. Accommodation delightful, very clean and comfortable. Breakfasts gorgeous and Jocelyn a sheer delight, so kind. Would definitely recommend and return to this lovely B&B ideally located for exploring the island.

Weekend Break

We chose this small hotel on the strength of it's reviews and were not disappointed. The room was well furnished and finished with quality decoration. The breakfast room was available 24/7 for coffee/tea and a place to meet other guests. The breakfasts offered a good selection of food. The staff and owners were very pleasant. The hot tub was in a covered building and very welcome after a long walk. We did not have use of the pool due to the time of year we visited. Beaches are only 10 minutes away. Other attractions a short drive. Saint-Martine de Rae was a nice place to visit and has good restaurants.
