Charming bed and breakfast in a lovely small seaside town

Charming bed and breakfast in unspoilt seaside town. We were very happy for our short stay here. The owners are a delightful couple. Breakfast is fresh and French. The restaurant no longer functions but there are many good places close by. Although there is no dedicated parking, there are plenty of free spots nearby. The room is simple but large and clean. The Sandy beach very close by.. we hope to return. Many thanks.

Impeccable room small balcony nice air conditioned Italian shower small top fridge to keep his drinks cool TV very nice welcome breakfast included is very hearty I did not try the restaurant another time

Disappointing stay

The reception was very impersonal. Instructions were given via email. The rooms were not cleaned regularly, as were the bathrooms and toilets. They were obviously trying to save money at the expense of the guests. The bathrooms are narrow, damp and therefore musty. The WiFi in the room was unusable. Since the telephone network in the area is also weak, this is problematic for guests traveling. The website mentions parking spaces that are supposed to be available. In reality, these are public parking spaces; there is a fight for each one, as everything in this place is very tight. The breakfast offered was minimal. The in-house restaurant was always closed in the evening. The manager rarely shows up. The employees, on the other hand, are very nice.
We reserved 5 nights for the end of May. Unfortunately, we had to go home after 4 nights for personal reasons. Although the hotel was only lightly occupied, the manager did not accommodate us. We were charged for all 5 nights.
We left frustrated. Customer orientation is not an issue here. After staying in 9 different hotels on our 4-week trip through France, our stay at "La Stregheria" was the worst. We don't understand the good reviews.

Unspoilt, laidback and low key. A wonderful place to slow down and relax

La Stregheria is a truly delightful place to stay. The owners and their staff are charming, friendly and welcoming. They were very forgiving of my poor French and very encouraging as I slowly added to my vocabulary. Our room was stylish with cool, clear and comfortable décor and a cute little balcony looking out to the expansive beach and sea. Breakfast was a delight of fruit, yoghurt, pastries, lovely crusty bread, eggs and bacon/ham and great coffee, making a very good start to our days. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the menu and food was first class. Well coocked and presented and accompanied by a very good wine. The ambience is relaxed and chilled.
La Franqui is a wonderful place to slow down and relax in this somewhat unusual spot on the Mediterranean. It retains an unspoilt, laidback and low key feel that is so hard to find anywhere else along the coast. I felt like I had stepped back a few decades to an elusively hippy, happy time and place. A broad sandy beach, lots of water sports options, some cool cafes and restaurants. Let’s hope it doesn’t become another beach with chains of big hotels; it is far too special a place to change in any way.

Charmant

Les chambres d’hôtes sont dans une jolie petite résidence des années 50. Rénovées avec goût et sans chichi , le confort y est parfait. Les propriétaires sont très sympas et le petit dej bon et copieux. Sans compter que la plage est à 50 m. Bref , une super adresse à La Franqui , qui est sans doute ma plage préférée dans cette partie de la côte.
