Rise a "Escape into town"

Rouessé Manor is a haven of peace quite exotic in the middle of the city. Arrived at the mansion by chance 2 years ago, we multiply stays when we come to Laval. Its roof was recently redone, which puts it in majesty.
We shop at the grocery store, rich in local products. The owners know their products well and their welcome is very friendly. Rooms with exposed beams and stones are comfortable. We are always happy to come back. A large free parking to stay or shop, completes the ease of access. A place to try!

A very nice place, out of time.

Passing for the second time, with always as much pleasure.
Really atypical place that offers a moment "out of time".

The welcome was good from the pleasant owners. The Manoir is an impressive historic building set in its own grounds and surrounded by a housing estate. We were shown up to our room up a steep winding stone staircase up to the attic or turret room. This room had an ensuite. The decor and finish to the room was poor and not to our taste. Rather gloomy. But the room was warm and the bed OK. No glasses to drink from. No soap dish. Not particularly clean. (But we do appreciate how difficult it is to keep beamed rooms clean). When we entered our room, our reactions were "what have we booked! ?".
The breakfast was unappealing. The breakfast room was interesting but a little odd!
The owners are clearly trying hard, but we are sorry this was not a good trip for us. Good luck in your endeavors.

Avoid if you do not stay in the old parts

Big disappointment. Our rooms in the 16th century tower were given to other travellers! We were relegated to the guest rooms above the grocery store. Disparate and obsolete furniture, outdated and barely clean bedrooms and bathrooms, and in addition the owner was unpleasant.

We selected reserved a room which we were not allocated but a significantly worse room, dirty and with plaster falling from the ceiling from a prior leak, poor WiFi, appalling shower room, and no amenities. ( All had to be prearranged) So no drinking water on a day when it was 34 degrees. Owner said he decided to change it. The room had a plug badly fitted to wall with extension bar for the TV and box. Health and safety issues
