Set within 1.8 km of Dax Train Station and 300 metres of Sainte-Marie Cathedral, Thermotel offers rooms in Dax. This 3-star hotel offers a shared lounge, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge.

I stayed at Thermotel Bérot for 3 weeks in May. The studio that I had reserved on the 1st floor was clean and very functional: large bed with good bedding, well-equipped kitchenette (fridge, oven, microwave, toaster, electric coffee maker, hotplate, storage cupboards, with dishes, cutlery, clean kitchen utensils). Bathroom linen is provided as well as sheets and a bathrobe for spa guests. Beautiful bathroom with walk-in shower. The cleaning lady walks the corridors from 6 a.m. onwards. First aid starting at 6:10 a.m., the housekeeper treats the rooms which spa guests vacate for the duration of their treatment. On their return, spa guests find their room clean and tidy. Housekeeping is provided 5 days a week. The only downside was that the studio was located on the street side, a little noisy at night. Animals are accepted. No restaurant at Thermotel, but it is possible to order cooked meals by reserving them at reception. The dishes offered during the week are displayed at reception. In the surrounding area, the market halls and numerous restaurants and caterers. Possibility of eating in the establishment's dining room.
There is still a small gym there.
Paid parking nearby. Animals are accepted.
Local producers are regularly present in the reception hall (cheeses, preserves, cold meats, etc.)

Urgent downgrade for this establishment
At 86 years old, I came with my very small dog;
Studio 1 was reserved with a garden-level terrace for the animal;
This studio was supposedly the only one that had not been renovated! Totally outdated and more seriously, completely unsafe: no grab bars in the bathroom, unsuitable sanitary facilities, and the shower; plus major hygiene issues, very visible spider webs in the toilet, stained and torn bedspread... even anti-pigeon spikes on the upper floors have come loose and fallen onto my terrace;
After 4 days of negotiations, I was moved to a studio, without a balcony for my animal, so I was forced to take it out regularly;
Despite the availability of Celia and Olivier at the reception, whom I sincerely thank for their support and responsiveness, none of this made my start of treatment easier; this stay affected me greatly and my treatment suffered as a result;
I strongly advise against this establishment

DAX THERMOTEL to flee
I stayed at THERMOTEL in Dax as a curist thinking that for a 3-star comfort, fit it out and cleanliness would be necessary. What was not my disappointment:
Development must be at least 30 years old. The studio is filthy, disparate furniture, filthy bedding (mattress as bed base) which was also on hold, it took me 15 days to deal with this problem.
The closet does not slide and the rail is very dirty. The bathroom is the same: the silicone seals are black with moisture. The shower column very oxidized and damaged. Fouled shower wall attachments as well as tile joints.
Also this part of the hotel does not directly overlook the thermal treatment center (which was not specified to me when booking). You have to go outside on the street side, then access the lobby of the hotel and cross it to the health center).
I am very disappointed with this experience.

Hotel upgrades. To flee
Curiste I rented a t1 for 1400 e the 3 weeks. I expected to have a service worthy of a 3-star hotel... NO! C is a maximum of 2 stars. Dirt, noise, smoking at the entrance, the elevator looks like a freight elevator and smells very bad. Welcome and very cold services, no conviviality, you have the impression to disturb..As for the apartment See photos. Menage made out... forced to clean on arrival... never a hello from the cleaning staff. Not recommended, to flee for the convenient price. It's a shame to think the curists are cash cows. Deserves to be reported to the suppression of fraud..

Nous sommes sincèrement désolés de lire que votre séjour n’a pas été à la hauteur de vos attentes. Il est vraiment dommage que vous ne soyez pas venus nous voir à l’accueil durant vos trois semaines de cure pour nous faire part de vos remarques. Nous aurions pu intervenir immédiatement pour évoquer ces points et améliorer votre confort.
Nous constatons également qu’aucun questionnaire de satisfaction n’a été rempli à la fin de votre séjour — c’est un outil précieux pour nous aider à identifier et résoudre d’éventuels dysfonctionnements.
Toutefois, nous nous étonnons que vous ayez posé une option au Thermotel pour 2026 alors que l'hébergement ne vous convient pas .
Concernant la classification de l’établissement, le Thermotel est bien classé 3 étoiles selon les critères officiels d 'Atout France qui effectue des visites tous les 5 ans . Nous effectuons régulièrement des contrôles et des rénovations afin de maintenir ce niveau de qualité.
Nous prenons vos observations très au sérieux et restons à votre disposition pour en discuter plus en détail si vous le souhaitez.

Very hot and very noisy
I booked two rooms via Booking.com. For some reason the price was substantially more expensive than if I had booked direct and the rooms were probably the worst in the hotel. We were given two ground floor rooms on the road side - in fact the road was just a few feet away from the room and as this is a busy main road it meant that opening the window was very noisy. But the heat in the room, even on a not especially warm day was overwhelming! It was very hard to sleep. Added to that, this is an old fashioned hotel where the rooms have not been decorated since the 1960s or 1970s, with bathrooms in the same style.

We are sorry that our hotel did not meet your expectations. On Booking , breakfast is included.
That's what makes the price difference. We are situated in South West of France, in july it can be hot.
