A must visit!

My second visit to Chateau de la Grave! The hospitality from Valerie and Phillipe is second to none. I felt like a family member staying there. They catered to our requests and made us feel very welcome.
The rooms were large, clean, daily room service, and had amazing views! They had a great selection of food for your breakfast, which I highly recommend.
They have wonderful choice of wines! Whether you love whites, reds, or blends, they have it, and you can drink it in their tasting room or their patio. The cave tour is short in general; It has a lot of good information on their history and how their wines are made.
Looking forward to my third visit later this year!

Lovely quiet traditional Chateau

Lovely traditional family Chateau near Bordeaux. Perfect location and everyone so friendly. Used it as a road trip stop off en route from St Malo to Alicante . Beautiful room, breakfast all home made and in area just off family kitchen. No dinner but owner recommended restaurant in nearby Bourg where his son was doing a wine to match gourmet food night. Loved it. Went into the chateau wine cave and purchased some wine (would have bought more but car was full of our stuff taking to Spain Villa). Saving wine for special occasion as we know at price and vintage will be a real bargain, no hesitation in staying there again,

Beautiful Chateau de la Grave wonderful luxury boutique stay in magical wine estate

Outstanding Beautiful Chateau nestled in a magical tranquil setting of rolling vineyards with boutique luxury accommodation, bespoke wine tasting of the estates’ vintages and superb hospitality from the family, Valerie and Philippe.
The Chateau is stunningly beautiful, impressive and lovingly furnished with the feeling of a treasured happy family home with swimming pool within its estate. Our Tower room was huge, lovingly furnished with antiques and with a large luxury ensuite located in the adjacent Tower. Every facility was immaculately clean, and 5-star standard. Superb boutique accommodation with idyllic views of the vineyards.
Breakfast was downstairs in a magnificent room with fruit salad, yoghurt, granola, cereals, the best brioche in the world, croissants, various French breads, cheese/ ham and a choice of freshly cooked eggs with coffees / juices with Valerie’s welcoming and superb scrambled eggs it was a perfect start to the day.
Chateau de la Grave is a working family vineyard with Philippe providing the most enjoyable and informative private wine tasting of 9 of the Chateau’s Red/White/ Sparkling wines – fantastic.
Valerie and Philippe kindly administered first aid for a small cut - their care and kindness was above and beyond.
Our stay was absolutely wonderful.

Incredible Stay!

Had an outstanding stay at the Chateau de la Grave! Philippe and Valerie were gracious hosts. Everything was perfect! The accommodation, hospitality, breakfast, views, tasting room/wines and let's not forget about the cats and will return again!

Stunning small Chateau for relaxed informal stay

Simply wonderful place to stay and relax. It is stunning and Philippe and Valérie Bassereau are wonderful hosts- it is very much that you are house guests in their home. The breakfast is excellent. The rooms are beautifully appointed as are the communal areas. The wine tasting is phenomenally good- they have many more wines they produce which the Wine Society doesn't even stock..yet!
This was our second visist and we will return.
