Hotel Diamant in the town of Arras

A very well equipped apartment big enough for 2 couples, great location next to town square/shops and within walking distance to the train station. A great base for the Battlefield Tours including the Sir John Monash Centre and Ypress.

Plain & simple

I guess the 2 star says it all really. Steep stairs, no place for suitcases, bed was comfortable enough, room size small, bathroom was ok. Great location, we had the window open overnight to get some airflow, so there was quite a bit of noise from the pub.
Breakfast, well I felt like I was in an episode of Fawlty Towers!
I was asked by the owner why I removed the tray from where I was seated...'what did you do, where is your tray?'
I said, I don't wish to eat off a tray, he tutted & rolled his eyes before marching off - I clearly created an International incident & ruined his day.
When he walked past our table, again he tutted, then shook his head at the crumbs on the table from the croissant I was eating.
We asked where the coffee was, he simply waved & pointed with his nose to where the coffee pot was, this was after he so pleasantly tended a French couple..
I cleaned up after myself & took great pride in leaving my place spotlessly clean.
The food was nice enough, it was definitely an experience with memorable moments.
Would we stay here again?
Definitely not.

Great Location on the Place De Heros

We stayed here for one night while exploring the WW1 sites in the area. This is a great location right on the square. Room was clean, bathroom decent size, would give higher marks just that the room we had overlooking the square was tight with a king bed in it. That is par for the course in an historical building. We stayed on a Friday night. There is a huge market in the square on Saturday mornings. We thought we were going to hear them setting up, but we didn't hear a thing. It was great to experience the market.

Greal location and value

Bang in the main square, metres from bars, restaurants, tourist office and boulangerie. Friendly , efficient owner.We hired the apartment which is great for a family or group friends who don't mind sharing one bathroom, looking for great value and terrific location. Nice touch was the complimentary coffee, fruit juice and cereal.

Great place to stay in Arras

I stayed here on two occasions in the same week, with a 3 day trip out of town in between. The owner looked after my bicycle and kit while I was away, and had my clothes laundered ready for my return. Incredible location, excellent breakfast and a warm welcome. Great value for money too. Looking forward to returning!
