This guest house is situated near Görlitz town centre, a 12-minute walk from Görlitz Train Station. Pension Gina offers cosy rooms with bright wooden furniture and a flat-screen TV.

The kindest, most thoughtful owner imaginable
I arranged to stay here and the owner sent me a note telling me to call him when we were a half hour away, so I did. He was there when we arrived but told me we had a problem. I had booked for the wrong day and he had no room. Instead of saying "tough luck," he went with me to the local tourism center, which was closed, and then we went around to various places trying to find a place for my son's and I to stay, and finally, when we found a place, he negotiated a price for us since he felt what they were asking was too high. When I offered to pay for my lodging the next day, Frank refused to take anything even though he was out of a paying customer the next night. It was the most incredible act of hospitality I have ever seen. Even though we didn't actually stay there, I cannot say enough about what an amazing experience it was. Frank does not speak English, however, so the fact that I am fluent in German helped.

Excellent choice when visiting Gorlitz christmas market
Traveled from the U.S. to see Gorlitz christmas market. We were very happy with Pension Gina, staying in Room #3 for 2 nights. Rooms are renovated; the bedroom and bathroom are very large and clean. The shower is especially nice with large “rainfall” shower head. The owner provided a welcoming chocolate Santa, as well as coffee. Bedroom was warm. Some car traffic can be heard in early evening, but o.k. at night. Location is excellent for seeing Gorlitz and walking into Poland.
There is a short stairway; our ages are mid-70s and we easily carried luggage to room.
A special note: My wife's newly purchased scarf was forgotten when we left. By email, we contacted the owner (using Google to translate English to German). He replied, saying the scarf is being sent, and “Merry Christmas.” We await its arrival and are obviously happy with the owner.
A few suggestions:
1. The owner can be contacted by phone, but speaks limited English. To correspond with him, translate your emails into German using Google's Translation Tab.
2. Be specific on your arrival time. Owner does not live on the premises, but is only a few minutes away. He was very accommodating upon our arrival.
3. If carrying luggage from the train station (Hbf), take Tram #2 or #3. Get off at Demianplaz, a central stop for trams. Walk 2 blocks straight ahead from the tram stop. You will see a public WC and small park on right side of street; turn left on the next cross street which is Bautzener Strasse.
Summary: Excellent price, location, rooms and owner. We highly recommend.

Comfortable place, decent location, huge apartment
My arrival at the Pension Gina was a bit bumpy, but I had anticipated this because I changed my arrival at the last minute from Saturday to Friday via Booking.com. I tried to call Friday to confirm the change after making it on the website, but the person who answered their phone spoke no English. So I just showed up, at about 6PM, after walking with my bags about 15 minutes from the train station. (The place was easy to find using walking directions from Google Maps - there's a glass window out front that has "Pension Gina" written in big letters.) I had to ring the bell a long while as there is no office that was open. Finally, an elder German woman who spoke not one word of English answered the door. Apparently, the proprietor was not available but he was on his way - she asked me to wait inside (I think that's what she meant). She was very nice but seemed exasperated that she could not communicate with me, as I spoke no German. Finally he showed up. He did not speak much English either, but he was very nice, and we figured out everything required: he gave me the key, showed me the apartment, and I paid him - routine.
The Pension Gina rents out both private rooms and apartments, I take it. I was alone and would gladly have taken just a basic room for one night, but I got an apartment that was available on Booking.com (still not expensive). The apartment (third floor, no elevator) was huge - must have been 400 square feet, with a big bedroom, living room, bathroom, and kitchen - and a balcony! (The view is just over houses, not a bad view but not really pretty or anything.) The apartment did not feel brand new but was clean and comfortable. I would have been happy for a week there, but for one night it seemed much more than I needed. But for the price, it was a fantastic value.
The location of the Pension is not exactly "central" Görlitz, but because the town is so small, it's still only a short walk to the center of town. I thought the location was fine. I walked to the center and down to the river and across the Poland (where I had some pierogies for dinner), not a long walk.
The Pension does not have WiFi. I used my phone for internet instead so not a problem for me.
Görlitz is a beautiful town - lots of neat old buildings, great architecture, not touristy (at least when I visited in April), a town with a pleasant feel. The experience of walking across a short pedestrian bridge from Germany to Poland is unique. A number of recent American movies have been filmed in the town - most recently Wes Anderson's "The Grand Budapest Hotel."

Lovely apartment, cheap and welcoming - friendly owner
We booked this lovely double room with kitchenette for a cheaper price than a hostel would have cost us in Görlitz and it surpassed all expectations. It was a short trip by foot from the train station, and an equally short journey into the centre of town. The room was spacious, clean and comfy with everything we needed provided for us. Unfortunately, our TV wasn't working and we wanted to watch the Eurovision, however this was not a problem at all as the lovely man who owns the Pension Gina swapped the television with a working one downstairs. We wanted to pop out and get some food for the morning and he took us to the local supermarket in his car, after discovering that it was already closed, he drove us to another one before then dropping us into town and giving us a mini guided tour of Görlitz. He was well informed about what there was to do and see and provided us with lots of fun and interesting facts. There are maps available in the room and the guest house is also locatable for local pizza delivery companies, as we ordered in a delicious pizza. Overall, a perfect night's stay in a spot well located for seeing the beautiful city of Görlitz. Also recommend is the 'Senfladen' in town, where Bill Murray ate a bratwurst whilst filming The Grand Budapest Hotel.

A perfect place to explore Görlitz
A perfect place to explore the beautiful town of Görlitz. The room was very clean and spacious and well equipped with fridge, electric kettle, stovetop, complimentary coffee and tea. No WiFi available. Very centrally located, next tramway stop about 5-10 min away
