Fantabulastic and to repeat again
There are places that welcome us, but the Quinta do Bento, in Vieira do Minho, does something much more rare and precious: it makes us truly feel at home. This is not just a farm with family management; it is a refuge with soul, fed by a dynamism, brilliance and dedication that are felt in every little detail.
The strength of this accommodation lies in the multifaceted and tireless work of your team. It is impossible not to highlight the extraordinary Mrs. Virginia or “our Gina (always sweet!)”, as affectionately became for us. A golden famalicense, of limitless dedication, who treated us impeccably well from the first moment. He was so quick to welcome us at the reception, as to leave the rooms in an impeccable snack, to carefully prepare breakfast and dinner, or to shoot us constant laughs with his sweet and playful words. I confess that you are the kind of professional and human being that I would immediately take to my own business; however, you see that you are delivered to the right house, because you take care of the whole space as if it were genuinely yours.
The management of the Quinta reflects the genuine simplicity of its owners, who do everything to make the stay unforgettable. Mr. João is the living example of a complete delivery without tapes: at one point he is on the roof to solve a technical issue, at the other to take care of the treatment of the pools, to give support to the tables or of a frontal set to help in the kitchen. A word of deep appreciation to Mr. Father do João, for the vision and "clinical eye" in entrusting the children the continuity of this extraordinary project. To him, a sense of "well-being" and wishes a lot of health.
And what a delicious surprise was having the luck to inaugurate the new Infinity Pool! It is a rare privilege to find accommodation that offers three water experiences so distinct: the heated indoor pool, the outdoor pool embraced by a stunning green of trees and flowers, and now this stunning infinite pool to debut.
In the gastronomic chapter, the Quinta do Bento is pure nostalgia and affection. The food is made with love, looking like authentic mother food with tenderness in the palate. We kept in mind the measured eggs just made in the morning, the soup of the day always different and reassuring, the fresh fish that arrived to us daily at the table accompanied by beautiful salty vegetables and homemade potatoes, the always juicy meats and the irreproachable homemade desserts. At night, the surprise of some cozy rabanadas watered with a special mime of Porto Wine closed the day with a golden key. At the gifts, we were surprised by a delicious caipirinha and the divine Gêres Tónico, a kind of gin from the region whose recipe we do not reveal, as it requires even a visit to be tried in loco. Note the brilliance, care and excellent internal organization: the information flows between the team with great effectiveness so that the end customer feels completely comfortable. And the future was even more dazzling, with the promised new rooms and the restaurant overlooking the river.
We wish the greatest success to these good people, who captivate us so naturally by their authenticity.
As promised to Mr. João, we will be back very soon, as soon as the professional life allows, and bring our relatives so that they can experience this unique experience.

Experience to repeat
A week of rest, comfort, wonderful views, excellent homemade food, not only in taste but also in many of their homemade ingredients. With irreproachable cleaning. I felt like home! And this is also due to the staff, always smiling, available and super attentive with us and with the animals that accompanied us. An experience to repeat, no doubt!

Calm peaceful non-fussy place to relax.
Down to earth, unpretentious place with warm hosts, excellent home-style food (dinner made to order, place order in advance), clean, welcoming. I had wonderful vegetarian food, the best I've eaten in Portugal. We managed to be understood with the little Portuguese we speak.
Understated place without tour buses. Warm pool in the winter was welcome.
