Great stay in Ribeira Brava, Madeira

Excellent 10-day stay at Dazkarizeh 73. Really friendly and helpful staff and great location with lovely views if you're looking for something more laid-back than Funchal. Swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna very welcome after a day's hiking. Lovely food and service also in the associated restaurant, Angelina's Place. Highly recommended.

Views for days!

This was such a lovely, warm and beautiful hotel.
We stayed here for a week whilst we explored Madeira and it was the perfect location to explore and be outside of Funchal. As we went hiking most mornings, you are able to request a packed breakfast which is given to you the night before. We found this to be substantial for a morning to mid afternoon hike.
The pool and spa facilities were perfect after a long day. The vibe was lovely too, with people gathering at the pool for sunset - hostel vibes with a more mature feel.
Beautiful rooms with street parking available and there is a restaurant which in association with the hotel.

Lovely room but the breakfast and lack of service was very disappointing

The location of the hotel is lovely, in a more suburban area with a view of the sea. The parking can be difficult if you not one of the lucky few to get one of the free spots belonging to the hotel. The hotel is made up of several rooms that are on different terraces so it is quite a feat to carry up your luggage to your room. The swimming pool looked lovely as did the hot tub. The room itself was very large, well decorated with a lovely terrace. The bed was large and very comfortable.
Taking our luggage to our room was a challenge, and of course back down again. There's no one to help, so if you are an older person who cannot easily climb (many) stairs with your luggage, this is not a place for you. The breakfast was really shabby. It was served in a room with mega TV that was playing music videos, this did not fit the vibe of the place at all. You just wanted to get out of there. And there was no one there to help you... we were there for 30 minutes and not a single person came in to check on us. The breakfast experience was very disappointing. And then it was time to check out and there was no one anywhere so we left a few euros for the two things from the minibar and just left. We wouldn't return. This was our expensive stay in madeira and certainly the most disappointing.

Disappointed

Communication in advance not present when sending mails. Shower does not get hot, no pressure on the water. Sauna must be turned on by employees but no employee found at 3 times. The pictures are really nicer than in real life. I still get money back from 2x breakfast, this would be arranged the same night of check-out but so far nothing received and I get no response to several emails. Very bad and disappointing!
