A window on the sea

The great white house is divided into three parts. Casa das Mares 3 is the one on the left and is a b&b run by a very nice couple. We went there in mid-April, there were waves and sun. We had a great time. The room is simple, but comfortable and has a window on the sea that is worth the trip. Breakfast in the small terrace is to remember. Miguel and his partner were great hosts. The location of this property is unique, the silence is interrupted only by the sound of the waves. I recommend going down here, as well as really worth a visit this part of Baleal, maybe not in the middle of summer. Definitely more interesting this "peninsula" that opens onto the ocean between two large beaches than all the other towns in the area.

Beautifully located guest house

Excellent room, not large but fine with a neat bathroom. Beautiful views of the ocean on all sides. Beach on the doorstep. Sufficient parking space. A delicious breakfast with fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, orange juice, cheese and fresh bread.

Wonderful views and an excellent Host!

We stayed here two days in mid June 2022, Vitor is a gracious host and welcomed us with Port wine on the veranda. The homemade breakfast was delicious and the room was cozy, comfortable and well appointed. We will be back for another stay soon!

Kind host, beautiful views, delicious breakfast to boot

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at this B&B, located right on the water in Baleal. Vitor, the host/owner, is an elderly gentleman who was so polite and adorable. The decor in the place is nautical/whaling-related, as "Baleal" comes from the Portuguese word for "whale." The town used to be a whaling town in the Middle Ages! The view from our bedroom window is bar-none, the best view I've ever had in any hotel/B&B. Our room faced west, and watching the sunset was an experience I'll never forget. Since we were there in mid-April, peak surfing season was over, but we still saw many surfers riding the waves at the beach and had such good breakfast served by Vitor. The room was also very tidy and clean. I figure they took a big hit from the pandemic but the stay was really so nice. We were provided a clean and comfy bed, toiletries, and clean bathroom. If you're planning on visiting Peniche or Baleal, we highly recommend this place as opposed to the other Casa de Mares. Each one is run by a different host and Vitor's place was the only one still in operation (from what we could tell).

a perfect place!

We stayed for 4 wonderful days. The view from the bedroom is stunning, the place feels so exotic and homely at the same time. Vittor and his helpers are welcoming and kind. The breakfast is gorgeous. I had yoga with Andrea in a room upstairs while my husband was surfing. We had a perfect stay.
