Social Hostel with Amazing CDMX Location!
I had such a great time staying at this hostel – and for nearly two weeks! I truly owe my wonderful first time in Mexico City to the hostel hosts Hugo and Claudia. They cooked fresh breakfast every morning, which was a pleasant surprise, and they organized and/or suggested about 1–2 optional activities per day, shared among the hostel guests via WhatsApp group. The location is super convenient, right next to a Metro station along with other extremely walkable places in Juarez, Roma, and Centro. Also, it definitely has a sociable hostel vibe, and notably not a "party hostel" vibe. Most guests were very interested to hang out and explore things together outside of the hostel, rather than partying at it. However, there is a very nice rooftop and lounge spaces to hang out in. There is no concierge/reception per se, but Hugo and Claudia are both very responsive, and do a great job of checking people in once everything is coordinated over WhatsApp. Overall, would highly recommend this hostel if you are looking for a home base to explore this exciting part of town from!

Unable to Access Location (possible scam)
Rating: 0/5 – Possible Scam, Extremely Disappointing Experience
I did not stay at this property and strongly suggest you be careful. The entire experience raised several red flags that indicate this could be a scam:
Unattended Location: When I arrived at the property, no staff were present, and it lacked any visible signage or identification, making it impossible to verify whether I had arrived at the correct location. Additionally, there was no doorbell or alert system to notify someone of my arrival, leaving me stranded and unable to gain access.
Impossible to Contact: The telephone number in the booking confirmation email went straight to voicemail or ultimately failed to connect. I also tried to contact them through WhatsApp, following the instructions in the email. However, I could not download the app, and when I tried to call the listed Mexican number using my local Mexican phone number, I still could not reach anyone.
Misleading Booking Process: After receiving the booking confirmation, I was provided with further details on how to reach the property via WhatsApp. However, I found it impossible to connect with them through this method. The booking process felt suspicious and misleading, and I could not confirm my reservation.
Erroneous Payment Claim: To make matters worse, I received an email claiming they could not process my payment. However, I checked my bank account and found that my card had already been charged. This raised further concerns about the legitimacy of this property.
Given my experience, I suspect this could be a scam site, much like others I’ve encountered. The lack of communication, absence of a physical location, misleading booking process, and erroneous payment claims are all signs of a fraudulent operation. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this hostel and consider alternative options for your safety.

Wanderlust district perfect for my solo trip to Mexico city
Excellent location to walk to Roma, Condesa and surrounding areas.
Felt very safe walking day and night as a solo female traveller.
Claudia the host is excellent - makes a delicious breakfast included in the price, can help organise tours each day and might even take you to some local hotspots for delicious and affordable food.
Beds were super comfortable in the dorm rooms with privacy curtains. Bathrooms nice and clean.
Very chill vibe - not a party hostel but cool to meet other travellers on the terrace and tee up some activities together.
Wristbands/key cards to enter whenever suits *no front desk
Can organise luggage storage and get in with a QR code if you have travel plans later in the day.
Very happy with my stay!

I got kicked out for having no cash. Reservation said payment by card
I live traveling and I never had a worse experience. The beds have the curtains in half so you can not have privacy. I arrived and they treated me very badly, they told me that we had to pay in cash and to see how I could do, when the conditions said that you could pay by card. Instead of trying to figure it out, he told me to leave, with a bad attitude. He also told another person who worked at the hostel that "you can tell I'm Latino," super racist, and yelled "get out." I felt awful

Fantastic stay
We had a fantastic stay at Wanderlust District. The hosts are so welcoming and made sure we had a great experience in Mexico City. They gave us excellent advice on things to do in the city. The breakfast each morning was delicious. We stayed in a 6 person dorm which was lovely. The beds were very comfortable. There is a lovely atmosphere in the hostel and it is easy to meet new people. The hostel plans activities each day for the guests which is a great option if you haven’t visited Mexico City before. I would highly recommended staying at this hostel.
