A great place for exploring Marrakech
We stayed at Riad El Fenn in Marrakech for a 5 day trip. It was absolutely divine. The rooms are beautiful - we had Room 42 and that and Room 43 were the best in the Riad/hotel.
Two restaurants for breakfast and a really lively rooftop bar that attracts a great crowd. The Maitre D was outstanding. There is also a swimming pool on the roof reserved for guest only.
Location is great - a short walk to the souk/medina and to the main square which is filled with food stall and entertainment.
The staff were all incredibly helpful, friendly and courteous particular credit to Mimi on the front desk and Hamoda who sorted out all our transport and directions and was always a pleasure to see.
We have visited Marrakech a number of times and have stayed in hotels and riads. This was a really exceptional property.

Not sure the rooms but please avoid the food
Stopped for lunch at their restaurant. Beside the small and not appealing menu, I was not able to eat the steak. As it was extremely Chevy and full of fat, cut improperly and cooked even worse. The pics says it all

Thank you for your review and for stopping by for lunch. We're sorry to hear the menu wasn't to your taste - we offer a range of 10 seasonal salads and meat dishes as well as starters during our lunch service, and we do not offer steak at lunch.
We take the quality of our meat seriously. All of it is locally sourced and prepared by experienced butchers. Our restaurant team are always on hand during service and would be more than happy to help if anything isn't right please don't hesitate to let them know in future.

Style, Charm, and Great Food
From the moment you step into El Fenn, it’s hard not to be impressed. The design, atmosphere, and overall character of the property are absolutely stunning. Check-in was warm, friendly, and easy, setting the tone for what was overall a very enjoyable stay.
Our room was spectacular, featuring a large private terrace with loungers and umbrellas that became the perfect place to relax before heading out for dinner each evening. Housekeeping was flawless throughout our stay and kept the room spotless every day.
The food was very good across the property. We enjoyed lunches by the pool, dinner at the rooftop restaurant, and breakfast each morning. The cocktails were excellent, the rooftop restaurant delivered a great meal, and breakfast was consistently enjoyable. Service throughout most of the hotel was friendly and welcoming.
What was missing for us was a stronger Moroccan feel. While the property is beautiful, it felt more international than Moroccan at times. We would have loved more Moroccan music and a bit more local character around the pools and restaurant areas. It was also a little surprising that English was the default language everywhere, as we expected a bit more of a local feel.
The pool service was somewhat inconsistent. Our first day was excellent, but over the following days it often felt less attentive than the rest of the hotel.
The biggest disappointment came when we found out after arrival that the rooftop and rooftop pool facilities would be closed from 2 p.m. onward on one day during our stay due to a private event. We were told an email had been sent beforehand, but several guests we spoke with had not received any notification either. Considering the rooftop is one of the property’s main attractions, this should have been communicated clearly before arrival.
Overall, El Fenn is a beautiful and unique riad with stunning design, excellent rooms, very good food, and genuinely friendly staff. While there were a few service and communication issues, we still had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish stay in the heart of Marrakech.

El Fenn is definitely Moroccan with a traditional Riad architecture with 100% of used materials for constructions coming from Morocco and looked after by the best Mallem (artisans) of the Kingdom. We would agree with you on the fact that we provide indeed an International dimension for the life style and that we are indeed a unique place which does not correspond to the rest of the offer in town, but this is exactly our objective and our DNA.
We are very sorry to hear that the communication of the pool closing was not correctly shared because indeed it is a point of honor to be anticipating those kind of communication in order to provide our guests enough time to organise other activities. Having said so, this happened only one night and as all the other properties in the industry sometimes we have indeed the duty to reallocate some space for private events. The pool area at the ground floor together with the pool at the spa remained however fully opened as usual for our guests providing two nice option to stay longer close to the water.
I have passed over your valuable comments to the concerned Department heads so we can integrate your contribution to our improvement plans.
We are already looking forward to welcoming you back to El Fenn.

1001 nights in the city of Marrakech! An excellent experience for us. Clean and inviting room with a nice bathroom and a comfortable bed. It even had it’s own fireplace. Quite popular and crowded topside, the rooftop bar and restaurant serves good food and drinks. Quite chilly, so bring a jacket if you visit outside summer season. All in all a place I gladly recommend and will revisit.
