Vacation in Fes

There are enchanted brackets that amaze and make you happy. We stayed with my husband, 5 days in the riad El Gualia. Out of time, perfect at the level of reception (special mention for Alimi, warm and kind), comfort and decorations at the top without forgetting an exceptional cuisine and very, very well served.
It was our 3rd Moroccan stay, the visit to Fes is exotic and authentic.
Congratulations to the whole riad team, and a good continuation.

Once and never again, left early...!

Everything is very old in this hotel. Old beds, old bathrooms, broken loft, straw-like, ancient mattresses. Also the cleanliness was bad, toilet dirty and bed linen with stains. We were not helped with the luggage on departure. We had to walk the very steep and narrow stairs with the suitcases. Not feasible for the elderly. Breakfast was moderate and monotonous except for the omelette, everything was dry. Getting tea or coffee was difficult. The staff could not really speak English or French. Concerns were not sufficiently communicated and we had to guess the answers or hope that this would work. Drinking water (also for brushing teeth) you had to buy massively overpriced, change was never there. A driver ordered by us at the property was already paid by us at the hotel at a completely overpriced price. The driver pretended his bill had not been paid and demanded money from us again after arriving at the station. He tried to rip us off and only after we insisted and formally threatened police did he drive away. We left one night early as we felt absolutely uncomfortable here. The so-called host didn't care, no reaction was given. We strongly advise against this accommodation.

Dream experience

I traveled here as a woman solo and was a bit worried beforehand because it was my first solo trip but I felt extremely comfortable the entire time. The food was amazing and menus were available 3x a day and the staff was so kind and helpful. I felt so welcomed and safe. I choose this space carefully because I was worried about 2 things that I’d heard from friends who had visited different riads in fes: 1) overly pushy staff who try to upsell tours and 2) cockroaches/ bugs. Neither of these were present at this location. It was extremely cleanly and again I cannot stress enough how kind and respectful the staff was. Would stay here again!

A very beautiful Riad

Magnificent Riad, decorated with great taste in a quiet alley, perfectly located in the medina.
A caring, discreet and always present team.
Thank you for this discussion on traditional Moroccan cuisine.
A very very special mention for your excellent cuisine, a real pleasure for the eyes and the palate, very beautiful taste discoveries (bekoula, taktouka, Moroccan lentils, pickled carrots, mchermel among others and one of the best harira that I never eaten).
A little more varied breakfasts and homemade jams would have been a plus.
Thank you for everything and we look forward to it.

We spent a week in this magical Riad and pleasant and caring staff.
Many thanks to Anouar, the owner, always available to inform, discuss and tell the story of his Riad with lots of emotion. Thanks to Hajar, Boutaina, Najib and Mohamed who are always available and smiling to serve us.
I wish you a happy end of the year full of wonderful encounters and many thanks for your welcome.
