Kalkarassa 400 metrin päässä Rinellanlahdelta sijaitsevassa Le Margheritessa on aurinkoterassi, puutarha ja ilmastoidut huoneet. Kaikissa tiloissa on ilmainen WiFi. Fort Ricasoli sijaitsee 800 metrin päässä.

Malta on a budget
We have stayed here before and were happy to see that it is still the little hidden gem it was when we discovered the guest house last time. Le Marherite is in a quiet residential location with an easy walk to small shops and restaurants and bars . There is a beach nearby, also walking distance with a coffee shop nearby where we swam every day.
The room we stayed in had a view of the harbour and it while it is basic, it had everything we needed. Large bathroom, TV hairdryer, self catering facilities on the main floor (shared). It is an easy walk to the local .
We walked to the water taxi to Valetta and there is also a bus which will leave you very close by.
We received a warm welcome when we met the owners and they are on hand if you have any questions.
We would definitely recommend this property to anyone either travelling alone or with friends and family. It is affordable and has lots to offer.

Perfect for a transit or small budget
Perfect for 1 or 2 nights at the start or end of your stay or for a small budget.
It is a youth hostel with collective rooms or individual rooms.
In our single room there was everything you needed: shower, toilet, a small terrace.
Check in and check out is done alone.
Wi-Fi, air conditioning in the room.
Shared kitchen for all guests.
15 minutes from the airport.
Located in the 3 cities: point +.

What can I say, 1 point only for the kindness of the staff, everyone was kind and very helpful in this aspect, really compliments!
For the rest... Place like a horror film, very dirty rooms full of dust, we found hair that wasn't ours on the sheets, the bed was made very badly in fact every time I returned to the hotel I made it myself. Naturally we left our shoes on the floor for convenience and I won't tell you, full of dust and dirt, they got cleaned when we walked down the street a little more. The television didn't work, the bathroom smelled of sewage and dirt, it was also full of dust, there wasn't even an air fan. To make sure we didn't miss anything we found cockroaches in the room on two different evenings, I won't tell you our terror, they were walking on the sink where we had to wash. The terrace was very nice and you can see the whole city but it was dirty with dead cockroaches.
Having said that, I repeat, very kind staff, I'm really sorry for this review, but I would stay away from this place, it has great potential because it's a really beautiful structure, but the walls are falling down, it's dirty and it's old, they should implement great measures changes and it could become a beautiful place. As for the location, it's a very quiet place, for us who were with the car everything was ok, but for those who are on foot I don't recommend it because it's far from everything, there isn't a bar, there are no shops, it's a totally empty place and desolate.
For parking everything is ok there are plenty of free places where you can park without any problem.

You have been warned!
We did arrive late at night, so used a security box to gain access. The room was dark with inadequate lighting, bedding damp, one bed had no duvet at all so that person had to sleep in daytime clothing! The bathroom - disgusting! No paint on walls, mould growing in corner, lino tiles in shower and peeling up, drains very sluggish, but to be honest we skipped shower because we thought we would feel more dirty after using this bathroom! Towels were very rough, ancient and holey! People have asked why we didn't change hotels, I would have if I'd been in an area with another hotel. The whole place had the air of a halfway house for the homeless. I honestly wish I could say something nice about this place, because I love the area, but I really can't! Emailed landlord, surprise surprise - no reply!

Bad experience
It is practically impossible to say that Le margherite could be a good stay. Room n ° 5: Upon our arrival, as usual we checked the bed, and obviously lifting the pillows we immediately noticed how cleanliness is definitely not their strong point, in fact, on the bed there were hair obviously not ours. The bathroom is not present in the photos that describe the room and there is a reason for it, in fact you will find attached the photo of the mold in the concrete wall. Keep the towels tight because you may not find them and therefore do not know how to dry yourself after a shower, in fact, upon returning from a whole day spent visiting the city it is a must to take a shower, but since there are no towels, you understand well that it gets a little complicated.
The room obviously includes air conditioning. Well, it doesn't work, so be prepared for the forced sauna.
In conclusion, stay away from Le Margherite because it is as if you are throwing your money.
