Very nice hostel with children

Very nice hostel for families, even with young children. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there is a common area per floor where children can play. Breakfast is basic but good, lunch and dinner are a la carte or daily menu and tasty for little money. The climbing wall was really cool!

Beautiful building , for shampo and towels extra pay

After day cycling Arnhem-Rome day 3 quiet arrival paddling, great storage for bike under lock and key, food fine and almost free . Perfect spacious meal salad. But then : no towels no shampoo, small towel 3€ , normal cloth 5€ . Shampo which you get everywhere for free 4,50€. This is what I call a legalized scam. You're at the mercy of gods. Breakfast good.
Building insanely beautiful, but mattresses in plastic. Very moderate, back problems not coming here.
Desk fine
Do some towels and shampoo, this can and should not be done.

Budget friendly but very basic

Good option for budget accommodation in the region, but no frills.
The showers have no hot water and you must bring your own hand soap, towel, etc.
It's on the lake but that makes it hard to reach unless you have a car. Take a bus and get off at Echternach Nonnemillen, Centre de Secours, or Gare Centre and walk about 15-20 mins to the hostel. Part of this is unpaved. Follow the local signs (with shortcuts) instead of Google Maps.
There's an on-site cafeteria but I just bought groceries and ate on the benches along the lake.
15-min walk to route E1 of the Mullerthal Trail. After doing the trail, I wished I had stayed in Berdorf where there's better accommodation and food options.

Bad

We were at camp with school. Almost everyone was sick of the food so there was hair and bones of the flesh. In our room was another garbage bag with underwear from the previous visitors. The room was very quickly smelly because of the shower and toilet. The shower went off every 7 seconds so you had to turn it on again and again. Very unfortunate all this! It also had to be quiet at 23:00 and the durations also closed. There were also only 3 chairs in the room while it was a 4 person room. Furthermore, there was a lot to do at the Hostel itself

Comfy to sleep but that’s it.

Stayed here with the family for two nights in the fall. Beautiful surroundings and a very nice playground nearby for the children.
The room (we had a family room for four) was clean and had enough space and as usual offer clean beds and clean bed sheets.
The place is used a lot by schools and other outdoor enthousiasts as there is an indoor gym court and a indoor wall climbing hall.
The place is not very cozy. The hallways echo massively and the dining hall is huge and extremely noisy. The food was the least impressive of all the hostels in Luxemburg so far (overcooked pasta) And the dining hall was swarmed with flies and felt a bit dirty.
There are two rooms to sit and read but don’t offer a comfortable couch. Drinking a beer at night can be done next to the reception desk (two tables).

Hello and thank you for your extensive review. We are glad to read that you stayed with your family in our hostel in Echternach. As for the coziness of our hostel, we are aware that the modern structure doesn't appeal to everyone. But we hope that you will visit us soon.
