Hidden treasure
What a lovely couple Illias and Ellana who run Manolia Studios, friendly and helpful.
Nice clean rooms and the pool is a big plus!
Good base for exploring the island but transport a must due to steep hills unless your a seasoned hiker. We hired a 300cc quad bike from Happy Mood which was more than ample and did 801kms in 10 days.
Some nice tavernas nearby aboit 10-15 mins walk.
Would definitely recommend.

Great view
We stayed here for a week and had a lovely relaxing time enjoying the magnificent seaview from this basic Greek hillside apartment . We managed to cook a few great meals in the kitchen on a 2 ring electric hob ! Loved the outdoor pool which I swam in every morning. Close to supermarket , few restaurants and many beaches best to hire a scooter or car to see the beautiful of sorrouding garea Kefalonia . The Friendly Owner was always around to help if needed. Would recommend for a relaxing holiday . Steve

Very basic rustic rural Greek accommodation
Facilities reflected by the price.
The property is situated on a crossroads so is a little noisy if cars/trucks/buses are revving to get up the hill after slowing down during the day.
Pool area very clean. lovely deep pool. Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. Some days nobody about so it was very quiet. We didn't see much of the owner and wasn't about to request things although we had his mobile number for emergencies.
Cleaner was very thorough but only came every 2/3/4 days. I would expect at a minimum for the bins emptied daily. Especially the bathroom bin.
No curtain around the shower so water got everywhere - easier to shower in cold shower next to pool especially if washing hair.
Large balconies with various views. Some with shade.
Minimal kitchen equipment provided. Although there is a nearby well stocked mini market it would be difficult to cook much - would need to live off salads and bread.
Fortunately there are excellent Tavernas near by ( except the nearest one}
We bought mugs as there were only tiny cups to drink our tea from. The water we boiled in a huge pan. Also a decent sized glass was purchased from the mini market. I ate my cereal out of the salad dish as no bowls and saw a guest eating yogurt from a cup. Lots of serrated knives. Fortunately we'd taken scissors.
A communal BBQ was available for use and could have been a social integration area but tended to be used by larger families.
Sleep quality depended on how noisy the next door /upstairs /downstairs occupants were.
WiFi was extremely good.
Ideal location with a variety of beaches close by some walking distance but require a car for varied beaches. Mounda beach was an expansive sandy beach with shallow entry to sea suitable for children. Facilities at the lovely Marine Bay hotel.
Car park got quite full and was quite a tight turn into the entrance and a steep slope initially with a deep rut between the concrete and the gravel.
Tavernas walking distance. The nearby "Star" accommodation looked quieter as regards traffic noise and a garden / pool area.

Beautifully basic
Stayed here the other week and had a lovely stay. We had read these reviews so knew the accommodation was going to be basic. But a clean room, showers and air con that works what more do you need? The owners were very accommodating and would do anything for you. The pool area was clean and very quiet and peaceful. Even at night everyone was very respectful with keeping their noise down. We chose to stay here as it is in our favourite location and would definitely come back again. It’s perfect if you are just looking for a base and plan to spend your days exploring the island.

Relaxing peaceful location
We had the most fantastic 2 weeks staying at Manolia, Ilias and Eleni made us so welcome, no notices saying "do this or don't do that" apart from the obligatory ones at pool, which also was cleaned every day. Very peaceful location, the rooms have had a recent update, with free air con to boot!! Nothing was too much trouble, and trust me,we were a pain,at times... locking ourselves out, falling over etc etc.
We will (sorry Ilias) be back, for the hospitality and the fantastic views, also the lovely lady who came to "do" the rooms!!! oh, and lovely mattresses!!
