The Making of Memories to last a lifetime

We ADORED Andavelo. Safari met us at the airport with his genuine warm smile and started our adventure first by boat and then by alleyway . We were welcomed with cold fragrant towels by Abu and Johnson, followed by a cold coconut embedded with frangipani flowers. Our room was magnificent with bougainvillea strewn onto our mosquito net clad wooden Arabic bed. The decor and restoration of this guesthouse is superlative. My husband is an architect and he relished every detail and the attention paid to perfection. We were treated so well by the staff who really care and go the extra mile to do everything to make you comfortable . They are gems ! Especially dear Safari - we wish we could have brought him home with us. The pool was heaven in the heat . Abu cooked us delicious meals . It was surprisingly peaceful and quiet especially at night you could hear a pin drop . Such incredible value for money - truly ten out of five stars . We will return and will tell everyone we know ! Thank you Andavelo for making lifetime memories with us

Authentic and consistent.

Our fourth visit and it will not be our last.
Home from home experience thanks to the wonderful team, Safari, Johnson and Abu.
Andavelo House is a beautiful piece of history. You will not be disappointed.

Brilliant in every way.

Jambo.
Visited Lamu in early December two years ago ,but due to personal circumstances beyond my control did not get to write the review.
Safari and the team at Andavelo house were absolutely brillian from arrival to leaving, so much so that we opted to going back after 5 days on nearby Shellah beach for another two nights. The chef prepared the most incredible meal for supper on our last night . I would return weekly if I could .
Totally exclusive, superb place to unwind, and what an inspirational residence, from the indoor swimming pool to the beautiful bedrooms.
A very huge and belated thank you .

3rd Visit.

As usual a wonderful stay. Consider Safari ,Johnson and Abu our friends now and Andevelo is home from home.
The restored roof area is a great plus and has enhanced this ancient and historic house.
The archifechtual attention to detail is nothing short of a tour de force.

A gem in Lau

We stayed for 2 nights in Andavelo house and loved it. It iscentrally located in Lamu town. If I was in the position to renovate an old house, I would do it this Wat. Eccellent with an attention for details. And a lovely staff willing to help you out in Lamu. My advice, go and enjoy Lamu and stay here!!
