Stay at Casa Bom Dia Mindelo

Our first accommodation in Cape Verde was in Mindelo, namely. Casa Bom Dia. It is neat and clean. We were kindly received by Christophe who provided us with the necessary information (in Dutch). The breakfast was decent and tasty. We had the room on the top floor near the roof terrace. It was a neat room, equipped with a fan above the bed and a standing fan for some cooling. Breakfast is served on the roof terrace and you can sit comfortably. You also have a beautiful view of the city from there. We recommend this accommodation.
Useful information:
- There is an ATM approximately 100 meters away where money can be withdrawn
become;
- We had a delicious meal in Casa Tchicau restaurant where the owners
serve a surprise menu. Live music was also played. It is wise to
to reserve;
- Interesting are the Mercado Municipal and the Mercado Do Peixe (fish market).

Place with lovely roof terrace and personal attention.

A wonderful place in the heart of Mindelo.
Have breakfast on a roof terrace and watch the city wake up. Very hospitable and personal welcome. And Christoph has the best advice for places to have a coffee, relax for an afternoon, have a meal or rent a car.

Doesn't deserve the asking price

Really very disappointed by Casa Bom Dia, the only strong point is the terrace and the breakfast. Contrary to what is advertised on certain reservation sites whose photos are misleading, the rooms are NOT air-conditioned and are NOT equipped with a kettle or refrigerator. There is a shared fridge on the 1st floor and a shared kettle on the 2nd floor. We had planned to spend 5 nights, we shortened the stay to 2 due to the lack of comfort and the impossibility of spending a decent night. The neighborhood is noisy and dirty, the old fan only blows hot air and it is difficult to rest. Vitamin room, the shower base is moldy, the soap dish rusty, the tap dirty and the bathroom linen unworthy of the price paid. The furniture is made of targeted boards that are not even salvaged or recycled. Little interaction with the owner, no indication of places to visit or eat.

Very good location

We did not meet the man who answers the reservations although he left everything organized. Danny is the person who takes care of the day-to-day life very efficiently, and also helps you with recommendations for visits to the city, giving you very precise information. He is a very kind and close person. We were surprised that in the 4 days of our stay they did not clean our room at any time. The rooms are correct but access to them for people with a physical disability or elderly people is very complicated since there are many stairs and some of them in a spiral shape, without having mentioned it at any time in the description of the hotel, which we consider to be It is essential. Of course, Danny, with the kindness that characterizes him, took our suitcases down for us. The terrace is not very welcoming and it is a shame because it has great potential. Finally we consider that the price is very correct. Regarding the location, this is fabulous, being just a few minutes walk from the center.

Best place to stay in Mindelo

Casa Solarino is located in the centre of Mindelo. From there you can walk to the city and the beach.
Barbara and Mauro are very friendly hosts who make sure that everything is perfect. The room is very beautiful, nice and clean.
Every day they serve a delicious breakfast with fruits, breads and cakes. Also they offer the service of drinks and delicious bites on the roof top terrace.
We had a great stay!
