The Guest Relations Manager was off the chain great!
My husband and I drove to Banff to celebrate our 21st anniversary and my birthday. When I emailed the Guest Relations Manager at the Moxy (Lawrence) to ask for suggestions of ways to make the vacation special, he pulled out all the stops.
1. He pulled records that he thought we would like and put them in our room along with a cool old Victrola record player.
2. He left a bottle of sparkling wine on ice in the room and decorated it with inflatable monkeys. (Photo attached)
3. He gave me a special button to wear so that I would get greeted and treated for my birthday.
4. He sent me two page-long emails giving me advice on which lakes to visit and which activities to choose in order to make the trip memorable.
5. He made reservations for us and spent an hour giving us advice in person once we arrived.
This hotel has such a cool guy keeping all their guests feeling so special.
We will always choose this hotel when we come back to Banff…and it’s largely due to Lawrence. What a cool experience!

The Moxy Banff is THE place to stay.
This is an extraordinary hotel. It runs the gamut of not only being very well managed (a GM who is there regularly, including weekends!), it is centrally located - BUT away from the hustle and bustle of downtown a few blocks away, attractive, well kept, providing many amenities, AND the staff is so amazingly helpful, cheerful, and focused on their guests.
The team members: from reception, to housekeeping, to restaurant, maintenance, etc are polite and willing to help. If one of them sees you looking perplexed or not knowing where to go, regardless of their job, they offer to help. And with a smile. We experienced acts of kindness and thoughtfulness that were not requested nor expected, and in fact, even exceeded Marriott’s high standards of excellence. Several of them gave us lovely lasting memories of the Banff Moxy. It is a fun place to stay.
We later learned that Moxy Banff won 6 awards in 2025 from Marriott Hq and finished 2025 as the No. 1 Moxy in the US and Canada based on guest questionnaire feedback. Currently the Moxy Banff is holding that No. 1 position in 2026. As a Lifetime Titanium Member, we travel a lot, worldwide. If your travels take you to the Banff Canada area, we hope you try the Moxy Banff and experience an enjoyable and extraordinary hotel.

Opened my eyes to the potential and value of the Moxy chain - Great stay!
First, the staff. Absolutely incredible. Every single person we encountered. The bar was a great scene, with engaging and personable staff. Free gummy worms at check-in...every kid's dream (and big kids!).
The room was funky, but comfortable and spacious. We had a king bed and two singles. Had requested one with the beds at floor level versus bunked and they delivered. Only negative is the bathroom. There is basically ZERO privacy, but it works. We were exhausted each night, all we really needed/wanted was sleep.
Pool and hot tub are great. They have a really fun vinyl room that their guest services manager escorted us from the bar for a quick tour. Gym well equipped for the size hotel it is.
They (like most Banff hotels I think) provide free bus passes. Bus stop is half a block from the hotel...super convenient, especially since the hotel is right on the fringe of the town. Made getting to Banff Gondola very easy.
Parking was easy, but free parking is available on the street and staff freely shares this tip with you. We opted to just pay and park right by the door.
I would absolutely stay here again and, dare I say, it gives me less hesitation to book a Moxy again.

A wonderful stay with a true Canadian flair!
The location was great as well. You can walk to downtown Banff in around 10–15 minutes, which is a great way to save some money on parking. There is also a bus option available if you prefer not to walk.
What truly made this stay 10x better, though, was Andy at the reception. Even though it was my first time here, he made me feel like I was coming home. He really went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable and tried everything to make sure I had the best experience possible — even though I still wasn’t lucky enough to see a bear!
Of course, all the other staff members were incredibly friendly as well. A big thank you to the entire team for such a memorable stay. I would definitely come back!
