Wonderful Lakeview

We had recently spent two relaxing nights at the Hakone Hotel.
The two big plus points of this hotel is the spacious guest room and direct views over Lake Ashi and a glimpse of Mount Fuji (if you are lucky).
The hotel looked rather quiet during our stay in June. Our room on the third floor is spacious: a comfortable king size bed, a sofa looking over the garden and lake, roomy old style bathroom.
One negative about the room is lack of an electrical socket at the Writing Table for charging. I had to use the sockets at the bedside table.
We found the meal prices a bit high so we didn’t have breakfast or dinner there. We did had a light lunch on our check in day as the room was not ready.
We purchased the Hakone Day Pass which we used for the bus, ferry, cable car ride. It was good value and save us the hassle of looking for coins.
The bus stop is just right outside the hotel and it’s one stop from the terminal. If you’re on the H bus and if you missed the stop, no worries, the bus terminal is right next to the hotel.
We had breakfast at a very popular bakery cafe at Motohakone, which is I think 4 or 5 stops away.
The staff at Hakone Hotel are friendly and helpful. I will recommend Hakone Hotel if you are looking for a comfortable place to stay.

Hotel is ideally located, very good service, convenient car park. Amazing view. Nice onsen. 2 restaurants which are ok as there are not much options around (for dinner at least). It was a very nice stay for the whole family (with a 3 years old).

best place to eat

peaceful hotel . you can walk 4 mins to pirate boat to start tour . The french restaurant really good !!

Outstanding Location - Hotel Past its best

We arrived after a long day of travel - the location is spectacular over looking the lake and if you are lucky you can see Mt Fuji - we had a lake side room. The hotel is quite dated and needs quite a bit of TLC, the Onsen is also tired. The food is very expensive and lots of rules around not sharing etc. not allowed to play card games and high expense if you lose the physical key - it needs to be modernised.
Breakfast was OK - I don’t think I would come back and stay here unless they renovated it and upgraded it. Convenience and location 10/10 - value for money, service 5/10

Brilliant

Amazing view from room 307. Could see Mount Fuji when she was visible! Took a boat trip around lake Ashi which is accessible right next door to the hotel. Reception was quick and efficient, breakfast has something for everyone. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash in room. Also provide hair bands, toothbrushes and razors. Highly recommend this hotel.
