Wonderful 5 night stay in this family run hotel!

Very comfortable stay in Illmitz, room was well appointed, all areas of the hotel were spotless, super comfy bed , great air conditioning, good choice for breakfast, had the best dinner of the week on arrival. The out of hours honesty bar was well stocked and all beverages appropriately cold with ice buckets provided. The house wines were local and excellent!
Conveniently situated for all local restaurants and the public bus.
The town is very pretty with plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops near the hotel.
Everyone was very friendly and the host was genuine and extremely helpful.
The local area is well known for its bird watching and wine growing.
Would recommend this little town and Hotel Post for a holiday and would return in a heart beat. Thanks to Otto, his mum and staff for making our stay special!

Friendly staff and very good buffet

Although the hotel had to "look after" two bus groups, it was not loud. The staff were also very nice and friendly during mealtimes and very quick due to the number of staff. The food was very good and plentiful, the rooms were large and very friendly despite the skylight
Small criticism: 1 cushion per person meant that one person slept without a headrest :-(

Good location for a visit, but could use a brushup

It is an ok hotel in the middel of Illmitz, which is in walking distance to all restaurants etc. in town. Easily accessible and directly on the main street.
However, it is a bit worn out and could use a freshup. Both in the reception, restaurant and in the rooms. Breakfast was also okay'ish, but not better than average.

Very good hotel

We stayed at this hotel with my family in summer '20. A nice and friendly owner, hood location, cozy rooms and excellent breakfast service. You can also buy some local wines at the reception. I recommend Kracher dessert wine.

Very helpful and friendly owner.

We only stayed one night at the Hotel Post, but it was very pleasant. The owner, who speaks English beautifully, was very helpful in our plans for birding excursions in the nearby national Park.
Our room was very clean and comfortable. We appreciated the air conditioning as the weather had turned quite hot.
The buffet breakfast was quite good, but the star of our stay was a delicious grilled local carp cooked to perfection by the hotel’s talented cook.
We also enjoyed meeting the newly arrived Portuguese Water Dog puppy who is incredibly cute.
