A fantastic base to explore the Austrian lakes.

We had a wonderful ten days exploring the beautiful and dramatic Austrian lake district. We booked Rosenhof as a villa for 9 of us in two families. The villa was perfect - plenty of bedroom options and so spacious and well-equiped. Everyone had plenty of space to socialise or get some quite time.
Our days were filled with hiking, mountain biking, sightseeing and running all of which can be started straight from the villa in Ebensee or via short drives to other valleys, lakes or mountains in the region. It is a stunning area to explore - the only difficulty is choosing what to do next and where! Add in the fact Salzburg is just over an hours drive away (or train journey from Ebensee station) and Vienna is a few hours away on via rail and the options hold even more variety!
Catherine was a wonderful host - she and her husband live next door to Rosenhof, so were always on-hand for any help, advice, to share some local knowledge or for a chat. They were always very mindful of our privacy at the same time - we couldn't ask for more! Catherin was so helpful leading up to the trip, keeping in touch via email to ensure everything went perfectly, including during our drive from the UK over the two days preceding our arrival date.
We wouldn't hesitate in recommending Rosenhof for a family/group trip to the heart of Austria and have no doubt that Catherine and Robert would take the very best care of those who choose to stay at Rosenhof as a bed & breakfast guest house.

Peaceful relaxing and beautiful

Hidden in Ebensee in a beautiful surrounding with mountains and cattle you find Rosenhof. Located in a local street with 4-5 minutes walk to the fantastic restaurant Roiterwirt (best food we had on our roundtrip in Austria. Nice price too.) or 8 minutes to the village center. It is quiet and peaceful place to relax in. Breakfast is rich and fresh. Catherine was a perfect host. She could give us valuable advice on what places to visit for walking and nice nature experiences. These hints really made difference.
Room and beds was good but the pillows could have been better. Nice view from the rooms on upper floor. Parking just outside the door. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed it very much. ROSENHOF is the place to return to.

Perfect place in a lovely location!

Everything was perfekt! Cathrin is a great host! I'm sure will came back again....thank's for all Cathrin! We sleep well, eat good and the trip to around The Lake Ofensee it was a perfect trip in nature!

Travel with friends

Everything was perfekt! Cathrin is a great host! We are looking Forward to see us again. Ebensee ist a nice village. It is not far away from Linz, gmunden, Bad Ischl and Salzburg. the house is very clean. You can choos if you want breakfast from Cathrin or do it on your own.

"A delightful experience thanks to Catherine"

The Salzkammergut area in known for its natural beauty but local knowledge is essential to enjoy it to the full. This is where Rosenhof excels.
Ours was a cycling holiday and Catherine kindly gave us daily briefings on cycle routes, train and ferry connections; in fact all you needed to know to get around.
Rosenhof, run by Catherine and Robert is comfortable and welcoming. In fact it felt like home and was a wrench to leave after only seven days.
