Hotel Gemma sijaitsee maaseudulla ja vuoristossa. Best half-board

I cannot understand the two bad reviews from 2025.
I think it was an isolated case.
We felt very comfortable last week. Friendly and competent staff.
However, the outstanding cuisine should be highlighted. One would think that a star chef is behind the cooking. We looked forward to dinner every evening. We have never experienced anything like this in 50 years of half board.

Perfect stay at hotel Gemma

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Gemma. Rooms with a view, nice swimming pool and sauna, great staff and best of all: the food was amazing. The dinner was exquisite: a four-course fine dining experience and incredibly delicious! The staff was very friendly and also very helpful; nothing was too much trouble. We went for a completely carefree stay, and that worked out perfectly at Hotel Gemma.

Fully lives up to its four stars

After years of skiing in Rohrmoos/Schladming it was time for a change. Partly motivated by our age and a partner who became more interested in hiking, we chose the Kleinwalsertal. Our eye has fallen on the adult hotel Gemma in Hirschegg and we have absolutely no regrets.
The hotel rooms are spacious and very clean, some rooms have been recently renovated but also the original interior is nothing to complain about. Dinner is nothing short of fantastic, enjoyed every day the 4 or 5 courses and the excellent wines. Also nothing but praise for the exquisite breakfast and tea buffet with delicious “Strudel und Kuchen”.
The wellness may be a lot less luxurious than what we were used to, which we never used, but the facilities such as saunas, rest area and swimming pool were clean and usable. A minus was the temperature of the bathing water, brrrr.
The service we found excellent, very friendly and helpful staff. We can also compliment the new leadership in that area. In our room we had the first night suffered from a rickety heating. We were immediately offered another room and help with the move.
What we missed in the Hotel was some tourist information about the area such as hiking and ski maps.
The hotel is within walking distance of the cozy town of Riezlern and Hirschegg.
The ski resort of Hirschegg is simple but sufficient and nice and quiet, only Ifen offers a bit more challenge. One must then take the free shuttle bus for ten minutes. All other areas such as Riezlern, Sollereck and Obersdorf can only be reached by car or free ski bus. The hiking possibilities are almost unlimited, a good hiking map is available at the Tourist Office in Hirschegg.
In short, we enjoyed a lot of snow, sun and excellent service and will be happy to come back.

Very unfriendly and arrogant reception, should something be ashamed.

We asked kindly for a pitch we wanted to pay for and would be very unfriendly and arrogantly rejected. We have been treated so disparagingly that we can and will never again enter or recommend this hotel. The reception or owner should be ashamed of something, no matter how bad you are to speak to the newly moved, even if you are from outside. Shame on you, not a good poster child for Kleinwalsertal, especially you only come here via Germany, you should also consider that.

NOT RECOMMENDED PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!!
The hotel owner has such an unfriendly and arrogant manner that you want to leave the hotel directly on arrival.
YOU FEEL ABSOLUTELY NOT WELCOME!!!
We've been to many hotels but nothing like this has ever happened to us.
You don’t want to ask anything at all because you immediately get a puny, ironic, righteous and stupid answer paired with a crooked idiotic look.
Mr. Peter Gemma they should really work on themselves so you do not deal with paying guests (people).
Shame on you!!!
YOU ALONE ARE THE REASON MY WIFE AND I WILL NEVER ENTER YOUR HOTEL AGAIN
