My home in the mountains

In my opinion, it is the best hotel in the area both for the location and the services offered.
The hotel also offers accommodations for solo travelers, which is very difficult to find in the area... This alone is worth ten stars.

Hotel outside the chaos of Selva

Located just outside the chaos of Selva this charming hotel at the beginning of the Vallunga is managed by Mother and Son who every day do their best to ensure that the customer is always satisfied. The hotel restaurant, of excellent quality, is very popular with external customers to whom a reserved room is dedicated. Breakfast in the morning poor, half board cost average of a 3star.

Very distant service and absolutely not customer-friendly.

We spent our summer vacation in 2025 in three hotels in the Dolomites. Of the three, this was the one with the most unfriendly service. It felt as if the owners and the waitress were doing their job with great reluctance.
The food itself was OK, but a simple "enjoy your meal" or "was everything to your liking?" didn't seem to be part of their vocabulary. The same applied at arrival and departure—no question about how our journey had been, no interest in how we experienced our stay, and no well-wishes for a safe trip back.
In short: very unfriendly toward guests.
We won’t be coming back, despite the hotel's peaceful location.
Food and drinks
Very limited selection at the breakfast buffet. On top of that, you had to ask for cheese and ham—and it was (sometimes) brought to the table several minutes later. The same applied to dinner: the salad buffet was extremely limited and showed no variation at all. Unworthy of a 3-star hotel!
Notable details
We were struck by how friendly the staff were in restaurants, hotels, cable cars, and mountain huts (rifugios) throughout the Dolomites. Unfortunately, Hotel Val was a stark contrast to this.

Relaxing and pleasant holiday

Hotel in a strategic position very close to Vallelunga with mountain views; away from the chaos of the center, you can fully enjoy the tranquility and silence.
Friendly and helpful staff, gourmet dinner, congratulations!

Discreet restaurant, a bit cold.

I tried the restaurant at this hotel. Fast service, clean and cared for environment. Very good focaccia with the selection of raw, minus the gulash. Menu with few proposals and service a bit 'cold, this is the motivation of the 3 stars... I would have given four with an extra smile.
