Very quiet. With the car, we can reach everywhere.

Quiet and clean.
Good bed. Good breakfast.
With the car, you can go down to the lake where there are free parking spaces.

Peasant Stay

Lovely stay at Hotel Sonega. The subtle little touches made it special. The family who run it certainly take pride in their establishment. A warm friendly welcome on arrival and personally taken to our room. Our room was on the top floor, had a balcony and beautiful views of the town and the lake. Room was simple but clean and comfortable. It contained a fridge (first day's water was supplied) and had A/C. Dinner is an option if you do not want to venture down to the town after a day of sightseeing. Breakfast was plentiful. Towels for the pool are available on request - drinks/ snacks available when poolside. Plenty of sun loungers and the pool was very refreshing on a hot afternoon. Parking is available at a cost - two rates - one for outside parking and one for the garage. The walk to and from town is up and down a hill. For 90% of the route you are on a designated walkway/ staircase. It weaves you through the village down to the waterfront. On a hot day or if mobility is an issue this could pose a challenge for some.

A good choice for those arriving by car who want to enjoy some time by the pool.

A car is necessary even for a simple dinner in the city center; it may seem just around the corner on the map, but the uphill return is quite challenging!
That said, it is a very pleasant hotel, although it could use some renovation; for example, the shower stall in our room was reminiscent of a grandmother's house. Nevertheless, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, the pool is very useful and well organized, and the breakfast offered at €15 per person is abundant with many non-trivial options.

We had a very nice stay. The staff is friendly and helpful and obviously give a lot of themselves to ensure the guests have a nice stay.

Perfect stay and very happy!

We have just finished 3 nights at the hotel Sonega. We are a family of 4 (with 2 teenage children)
The room was perfect size and very spacious. Lovely terrace with table, chairs and umbrella.
Family run and family friendly hotel. Could always get a subbed by the pool. Ate breakfast outside round the pool each day. Great selection and had some savoury bits like scrambled eggs which I was happy with as not used to sweet breakfasts! Rest of the family appreciated the croissants tho
Lovely lemoncello spritz! Does serve dinner but we didn't get round to trying it.
About a 10 minute walk down to the main part and this was good for us as meant the hotel was peaceful and worked off our dinner on the way back to the hotel. Cooler by then so the walk back was no trouble. Would definitely come back!
