An enjoyable stay but some small improvements would make a difference

We enjoyed our stay but it did not quite live up to our expectations. The hotel itself was very quiet with a delightful swimming pool which we made good use of. The gardens are well kept. We had a cabin which had a comfortable bed and an adequate restroom. The electrics in the cabin must have been designed by Basil Fawlty. So many switches that we had to start the switch off about 5 minutes before retiring. On the negative side, breakfast was only adequate. Most of the buffet was in cold trays but the restaurant had a good Al a carte selection for lunch and dinner. Litter near the property was an issue for us. The hotel did not keep their beach frontage clear and our lakeside view cabin looked out on a lot of litter. This hotel seemed to be one of the best in the area and we did enjoy our stay despite its shortcomings.

Terrible hotel charging five start price for two star value

The managers were absolutely horrible. Unhelpful and rude both in reception and restaurant.
The staff are not trained so meal orders were always wrong.
The food was inedible and you could not even order a dosa for breakfast. The buffet food was limited and often tasteless.
The hygiene in the restaurant area was not good, often paper napkins and dirty tables around.
I was there to celebrate my 60th birthday but the beach was too dirty to even compare with the promises shown on the website. None of the managers could even bring themselves to wish me a happy birthday.
The location of the hotel is great but whoever owns the hotel needs to get rid of the current managers, get some better ones in, train the staff, get proper Indian chefs who can cook and clean up the beach.
This is not a five star hotel and the website images are fake.
If you want to pay five star money and stay in a two star hotel than choose this one.
I would not recommend anyone to stay here. There are far better hotels on the same road at a much cheaper price.

Suite of inconveniences, disappointments in beautiful place

Spotted during another stay in Cherai Beach, we just spent a few days there. The place is very nice the location of the ideal structure between the back water and the beach but for the rest c is inversely proportional, not worthy of a hotel of this level, our comfort was shaken many times, minimalist welcome on arrival, in the room air conditioning and random ventilation. Hot water. Strong decrease in pressure at the shower level, 2 days to have a working phone again and encouraging us to go through our phones internationally for room service.... Access to the restaurant despite the precise times never respect, cleanliness of the restaurant room doubtful windows overlooking the beach have not had to be cleaned for a very long time, towels for the beach and the pool I have more .... but the pile of used towels clearly visible ....... Etc

Noisy and inconsiderate

This was our 4 day relaxation after a 2 week holiday in India. However, at 1600 a large disco was set up evicting us from the pool for a mass private party. WE and the other guests had to leave, going on till late evening (so loud it was impossible to be in our rooms or the restaurant). When asking the (3) managers there was no offer of apology (drinks at the bar, dinner or use of the Spa etc. complaints just ignored.
