A Gem in the Mountains: Best Hostel in Kasol

Gostops in Kasol is undeniably the best hostel I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the serene ambiance and warm hospitality. The hostel's location amidst the breathtaking Parvati Valley provided a picturesque backdrop for my stay. The dormitory-style rooms were clean and comfortable, offering privacy curtains and convenient amenities. The communal areas were thoughtfully designed, encouraging social interactions and fostering a sense of community among fellow travelers. The staff was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. If you're seeking an unforgettable experience in Kasol, Gostops is the ultimate haven for backpackers and nature lovers alike.

Horrible experience, 10/10 would NOT recommend

I stayed at goSTOPS Kasol for a few days and, until checkout, everything seemed fine. Unfortunately, what happened afterwards completely ruined my experience.
The dorm rooms have lockers that can only be unlocked through the goSTOPS app. During check-in, we were specifically told that only we could unlock our lockers and that we should never leave our phones inside because even the staff wouldn't be able to access them. This instruction is also displayed on the locker itself.
The day before checkout, we travelled to Pulga(2 hours from Kasol) with plans to return before the 10 AM checkout. However, due to extremely heavy rains, poor road conditions, and reports of landslides, returning safely was not possible.
According to the hostel, they tried contacting us but couldn't reach us. Whether it was because of poor network coverage in the mountains or low battery, we genuinely never received those calls.
Instead of waiting for confirmation from us or charging a late checkout fee, the staff took it upon themselves to empty our lockers and remove all our belongings. Our luggage was left in the lobby without our consent.
When we returned, I discovered that the key to my suitcase and some sentimental wristbands that I had carefully kept inside my locker were missing. I had personally placed them there before leaving for Pulga.
The management denied that the key was ever inside the locker and claimed the wristbands were found on the floor and thrown away as "trash." This explanation was extremely difficult to accept, especially since these items were safely stored when I left. There was no acknowledgment of responsibility, no apology, and no attempt to compensate for the lost belongings.
What disappointed me most wasn't just the loss of my belongings—it was the complete lack of accountability and the dismissive attitude when I raised the issue.
If your hostel advertises secure, app-controlled lockers that only guests can access, guests should be able to trust that their belongings won't be removed without explicit consent. This experience has completely eroded that trust.
I hope the management reviews its checkout procedures and takes greater responsibility for guests' possessions in the future. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend staying here.

Inexperienced staff, Yells and Threatens you.

Inexperienced Staff, Awfully managed, Property just looks good from exterior but dorms are small and cramped. There is a fancy checkin system where staff forcefully makes you to install GoStop app by which we can access our doors and lockers, but it could very well be managed by a card, unwanted complicated app system. Staff actually yells and threatens you for small things like TV volume in common room.

Go stops staff members in kasol - bad experience

Bhai mai apne dosto k sath aya hu… still am spending my night in gostops but as per my experience kasol go stops is 5 out of 0 but i give 2 stars because of night out show …. But agter that the staff of gostop blame us that u ate 1 momo, 1 chicken tikka and 2 paneer tikka but we only ate 1-1 things all of them…. He thing we are also drunked but we not drunked … even they have recording of all the events and after watching the all recordings still staff is not ready to apologise… all of incident happened we said sorry and make thé payment of 1-1 eating items… but the staff attitude is not polite as per this situation and he said ki aap abhi itna pay krdo hum dekhte h apne kitna khaya h … had h yrr too unprofessional behaviour #gostops # jaldi_band_hoyega_ese #bad_experience

Would prefer some other stays with better view

Hostel is close to the kasol market which is great. However, I would not prefer staying in mixed dorms at hosteller because the washrooms are outside the rooms and not easily reachable either, they are a little far from the room and not very clean either
