Charm, character, great host and breakfast at bargain price.

Hotel Chalet is a charming small place away from the crowds of the market, and quiet, but close to it. It is like being in someone's quirky house. Manuel can help happily with anything. Breakfasts are excellent. Our ground floor room with 2 beds was small but adequate, and spotless. Upstairs rooms with double beds had big windows. Hot water and internet worked perfectly. The roof terrace is a plus. We will return if we are lucky.

Charming Hotel Near Local Market and the Cathedral

We just stayed two nights here and found this hotel to possess so much local charm, we really loved it. I booked it by contacting Manuel by email at

What a lovely man. He is very kind and accommodating and spoke enough english to decipher our rusty Spanish. We were here during Fiesta de Santo Tomas and the last big market day before Christmas, so the town was crowded and loud. However this hotel is just far enough away that the noise is not too much. Our room was clean and comfortable. If you need a place to stay in Chichicastenango I recommend you contact Manuel.

A great stay in Chichi!

Hotel Chalet was perfect for me and my stay. Manual was a gracious host and met me at 2:30am when I arrived, got me settled. Manuel also had good restaurant recommendations and helped set me up with a guide (Juan) who ended up being exactly what I was looking for to take in the culture and food of Chichi. My room had what I needed – bed, bathroom, dresser – and there was purified water available, coffee in the AM. I felt secure by myself with a key to unlock the door at the street as well as my room door. Wifi worked great. I liked the location, out of the hustle yet close enough to easily walk to the market and around town. If I return to Chichi I will definitely stay at Hotel Chalet and use guide Juan to see more of the area.

Excellent !

Very nice hotel, lovely owner Manuel. About 273Q the night with private room and private bathroom. It’s worth it! The breakfast is very good and hand made with artisanal bread and coffee. Very nice stay, and very secure and quiet place also. I recommend it !!
