70-year-old parents, elementary school girl, and I stayed together
I had to leave the hotel and head to the airport after 5:00 in the morning because my flight home was at 7:30 in the morning, so I pre-booked a $120 airport transfer service for Camellia Tower by email.
Until the end of March 2026, we celebrated our fifth anniversary with a free and wonderful breakfast every morning in the restaurant on the lobby floor. The food was great for two days except the last day with a good balance of Japanese, Western and medium.
I felt like a great Japanese hotel with probably the best service, hospitality, and staff in Guam with the heart to entertain guests. In particular, the staff who work in the Club Lounge made sure that their stay at our hotel was comfortable, enjoyable and relaxing, and they were warmly invited to come to the lounge for afternoon tea and light meals a couple of times a day, in English and Japanese. On the last day, I would like to thank my daughter for making moktel, which is not on the menu, and the staff asked me if I would like to take a family photo on the last day even though we did not ask.
For cleaning the hotel, I put down a tip every day and asked for cleaning. I felt that the standard of hotels in Japan was beautiful. It was very helpful to replenish the bottled water every time it was cleaned. During my stay, I drank every day, putting water in bottles chilled in the refrigerator in two water bottles I brought from Japan, and dissolving the powdered type of tea I brought from Japan in water.
Other than that, if you are staying at Camellia Tower, you can access the pool of the affiliated Nikko Hotel at no extra charge, and Camellia Tower also has a kids pool, so it was good to rent floating floats for free, although there are a limited number of them.
As a parent, I was happy that my daughter participated in making shell necklaces and bracelets and was exposed to other cultures.
I also use the laundry every day during my stay in the hotel because I only bring clothes changes for one night to minimize my luggage when traveling abroad, but it was very convenient to be able to use $2.5 for washing, $2.5 for drying, and detergent brought from Japan. The laundry machine was not available at that time, so when I asked the front desk to change the money, they changed 25 cents into 10 dollars worth of change for two days, which was very helpful. (They say that after 2026.4.1, the price increases to $5 for washing and $5 for drying.)
During my stay, I had a good feeling with the Mikitaxi driver both times I was called by the hotel. I also asked the front desk to give me a wake up call at 4am the day before. It was a relief to be able to drive from the hotel to the airfield with certainty.
Next time my friends and others travel to Guam, I wanted to encourage them to stay at Camellia Tower. Thank you for your time.

Mostly good. Just NOT close to a FIVE star resort….
First off, the property and the rooms were first class. It’s a newer property and definitely 5-star facility. The staff were extremely friendly and though at times, it was easy to see they lacked experience and training in certain areas, their great attitudes and politeness made up for it.
The shortcomings were all in what seemed to be the management cutting corners to save money or staff hours.
First off, they advertise Full Service breakfast right on their website in the club lounge. We were disappointed to find it pretty much dead for breakfast with only coffee and some limited pastries.
Current staff told us this was due to staffing issues.
We did have access to the complimentary breakfast buffet on the main level, but it was lacking in many 5-star areas.
Orange juice is a key breakfast item and it was so bad that I had to bring my own juice to breakfast in the morning. It was Sunkist with water and SUGAR being the main ingredients.
They had a fresh bread “display only” but the real bread choices were limited and pretty much what you’d find at a grocery store. No fresh bagels.
Fitness center needs attention. Should be 24/7. Needs more treadmills and a weight bench. Needs bottled water and towels.
Speaking of bottled water, they were kind enough to bring some to our room upon request but didn’t even have any in the club lounge.
I stopped by the front desk to ask for the GMs email or speak to someone and all I got was a business card for the “Front Office Night Manager”.
When you check in at the Ritz-Carlton, you get the GMs biz card and phone number. And you’ll probably meet him during your stay as we did.
All this property really needs is to hire some competent management from a real 5-star property to train staff and bring all the little things up to 5-star level.
The current top management is NOT doing that.
