Title: A hidden gem – my second home in the Philippines!
From June 7, 2025 to June 17, 2025, we stayed again at the beautiful Caimito Beach Hotel, now for the fourth time. And again and again, it feels like coming home. The owner greets me with a warm smile and the words “Welcome back, my friend” – a small gesture, but oh so valuable.
Everything about this hotel is right: the rooms are immaculate, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful (+++ appreciation!), and the beachfront location is ideal for those looking for peace, nature and hospitality. We are so happy to have discovered this hidden gem in Maasin.
I live partly in Belgium and partly in General Trias, Cavite, and my in-laws live in Hilongos (Leyte). So we know the region well, and I can say for sure: this hotel is among the absolute top in South Leyte.
Extra tip: the restaurant is excellent! You can eat both indoors and cozy on the terrace. Everything is freshly prepared and served with love. Definitely try the spaghetti bolognaise – it’s just +++!
For me, this stay is an 11 out of 10 every time. To anyone visiting South Leyte: look no further – this is the place you want to stay.

It was a good place for a quick vacation. Food was great but a little expensive. Room was clean but the BR/CR were a little disappointing as to cleanliness. But overall, I would return — and recommend Caimito.

Couples and Family Paradise.
I have stayed at this great hotel several times over the years with my wife and kids . We always book two rooms so the kids get their own room next to ours . I have travelled a lot in the Philippines and Thailand , I have to say this is the safest hotel I have ever stayed at . Beautiful rooms , beautiful grounds , fantastic views , great food and a fantastic pool that is accessible 24/7 (remember to keep the noise down) . The staff are immaculately turned out , polite , friendly and professional. WiFi is excellent. The owners Pascal and his lovely wife Eden are the best hosts ever . We have already booked for Christmas and New Year there and we can't wait . Over all the place is so relaxing , we always feel like we are at home when we come here . The city of Maasin is about 5km away , public transport is cheap and easy to use . Although this is a beach hotel the beach is quite small but there are loads of sandy beaches nearby . I hope my honest (if rather long) review helps . Thanks for reading M .
