Nice cheap lunch

Hostal Macami is a hotel AND a restaurant. I know nothing about the hotel, but would like to recommend the restaurant. Tripadvisor does not make it easy to evaluate the restaurant part of a mixed establishment, it seems.
I can recommend the restaurant with excellent local cusine. The very cheap 'menu del dia' was rich and delicious. So make your way down on main street of Pedro Abad just a short distance from the highway.

Overnight stop off.

El Carpio is a pueblo roughly 20km north of Cordoba. I prefer to overnight in these locations rather in cities are easier to enter and exit.
Hotel Macami is a totally renovated hotel in the pueblo, in fact one would take it to be newly built. Two stars does not do it justice.
Good restaurant/bar where food is excellent.
Parking on street outside. Goods train railway line beside hotel, little traffic.

Close to Cordoba

Pedro Abad is a small town 20 minutes away from Cordoba, but definitely not a tourist area. It is was an ideal base for us as we wanted to visit the Patio Fiesta in Cordoba and hotels within Cordoba were more expensive at that time. Hostal Macami was typically Spanish, and the rooms very comfortabl and clean. The staff were friendly and professional. Though they did not speak any English, I happily practiced my Spanish. We had our evening meal in the Hostal restaurant. It was an excellent, typically Spanish meal which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was so nice not to be offered "tourist fare". We also had breakfast the folllowing day - also very good - before going into Cordoba to explore the beautiful patios and gardens for the day. ((we then continued our trip to Malaga)
NB Hostals in Spain are of a very high standard and should not be discounted as they are usually reasonably priced and offer good value for money.

Muy cómodo, correcto y con buena atención.

Hotel muy tranquilo para parar si vas de paso, a un paso de la capital y bien comunicado con la capital a escasos 25 min. Las habitaciones muy tranquilas y acogedoras y el resto de las instalaciones muy correctas. Recomendable
