A lovely place

This is a really nice albergue. It’s very spacious, modern and spotless. The staff are lovely. The manager welcomed me in English, and did everything possible to make me comfortable. I had a private room with bathroom. The room was nice and quiet - no noise from the other rooms, as you get with some places. I was glad to be able to book ahead, and there was no problem when my dates changed. Highly recommended! I’d love to stay here again.

Disappointing and Unwelcoming Service

I stayed at La Perala in Bercianos del Real Camino after having a wonderful experience at Los Templarios in Terradillos, which I understand has the same owners. Unfortunately, the difference in service and hospitality was striking.
At La Perala, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming, and the staff interactions were disappointing. For example, I politely asked for some hot water and was abruptly told no. Thinking there might have been a misunderstanding, I asked again and received the same response, delivered in a stern and unfriendly manner. Afterward, and with visible irritation, the staff member changed their mind and with an angry voice blurted out a charge in exchange for the hot water.
This was just one of several interactions that made me feel unwelcome as a pilgrim. Compared to the warmth and kindness experienced elsewhere on the Camino Francés, this stood out as the poorest level of hospitality I’ve encountered so far.
I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as the Camino is deeply shaped by the human connections along the way

Top albergue for pilgrims and other clients.

Well-designed hostel for pilgrims or other clients.
Everything is well thought out so that once we arrive we have the necessary services to have a wonderful stay.
The cleanliness is also great.
The staff is helpful and kind. Very pleasant stay.

To avoid

The reception is not very friendly. And watch out for scams. I had booked a room for 14 euros in a dormitory and ended up in a room for 38 euros per night. The meal was of poor quality.
Furthermore, I forgot an item that I asked them to kindly send back to me at my expense. It was never done.

Phenomenal

Exquisite attention from all the staff, everything very clean, without a doubt so far the best hostel I have been to since we started in Roncesvalles, the staff very loving and affectionate as if you were at home, thank you for making us pilgrims continue on our way like the first day we started.
