Staff helpful. Room was spacious n clean. Big bathroom. Close to everything. The restaurant food really good. Loved it!!@

The hotel is located in the beautiful historic center and has amazing views. The staff were super nice and gave me an upgrade so I could get a better view. I think I was lucky because it was a week night and it was not all booked out. The room was big and had a small fridge. . It’s about a 20-25 minute walk to the city center ; down then up the steep hill or there is a city bus that runs often. I recommend the hotel, it was very nice and I felt relaxed because of the quiet atmosphere.

Charming but Improveable

Hotel Convento de Giraldo is in an excellent location, in the heart of Cuenca’s old town. The building, a restored former convent, has a lot of charm and retains a special atmosphere that makes it very attractive for a stay in the city.
As a negative point, the rooms are not well soundproofed, which can affect rest if there is noise in other rooms or corridors.
Breakfast is served at the Gastrobar Piola. Although the space is nice, the organization of the service is improveable. During the stay, there was a sense of incoordination, with coffees arriving cold and toasted that also lost temperature.
Overall, it is a hotel with lots of character and an unbeatable location, but with aspects of service and comfort that could improve

IT'S NOT A FOUR-STAR

The cost of the room can only be explained by the location of the hotel, in the heart of the historic city. Old-fashioned facilities, smell of "pipe" impossible to hide, partitions that transmit all the noise of the nearby rooms and very limited sympathy on the part of the employees (with the very kind exception of the dining room manager of the Piola gastrobar on night shift, attached to the hotel). They do not advise you on their website or anywhere with information about this hotel, but they OBLIGE YOU TO PAY THE TOTAL STAY ON ARRIVAL (they say they do so because they have suffered scams and non-payments, circumstance that we do not question, but that "detail" must be clearly advised in the conditions of the accommodation because ... what would happen if the conditions of habitability do not seem acceptable after the first night and we have already paid the total of the stay, they will refund the amount of the unenjoyed stay if we decide to go to another hotel?
