Kind hosts, clean and secure

Wow, couldn’t have been happier with my stay here - Luis and his family are wonderful hosts and were remarkably accommodating during our stays at the beginning/end of a bike trip. Gives great tips too.
Also central to everything in Playa del coco, clean and well maintained.

Hidden gem close to everything

The property is located close to the beach, bars and restaurants and is easy to find. Check-in was easy and they even let us arrive a little before check-in time. The owner made time to get to know us and even went out of his way to drop us off at BA Dive Centre on the way to Playa Hermosa, which was lovely.
The room was a good size, with clothes rail and shelved plus a fairly new air conditioned which worked well.
Something to note about the location and nothing to do with the property or managent, only a group of rude and rowdy guests who were staying Saturday night and kept everyone, awake despite owner intervention. That's a potential hazard of Saturday night in any tourist town though.

Coco Alegre for 2 weeks.

We booked a room at Coco Alegre for 2 weeks. Luiz the owner speaks English very well. When we arrived and wanted to pay, Luiz was concerned that we had not made the right decision because most people only stay for a few days. He refused to accept payment before we reconsidered our choice of staying such a long time. After a call to his wife Marlene, Luiz moved us to a larger well-appointed room with kitchenette and private bathroom for the same price as the original booking. We did not have to think very long and confirmed that we would be staying for the 2 weeks. We were not disappointed. The place is spotless, as others have said it is very close to the beach, groceries and main street.
Natalia the hired help and Marlene the owner work hard and it shows. Although our Spanish is not great we had great conversations with Marlene. She is very sweet and likes to practise her spoken English. We could not ask for better hosts.

Great little apartment

We stayed at this apartment during the rainy season and was stuck indoors for majority of our trip. We didn’t mind it because the apartment was great and had all the essentials including a kitchen with a fridge freezer and crockery and a separate bedroom with AC and a TV. The WiFi was very good as well. It is by no means a fancy place but has everything you would need and is a stones throw from the main strip and the beach.
What really set this place apart however are the owners. They are so lovely and helpful and always with a smile on their face which makes a real difference. the day we were leaving it was raining so hard but we were determined to walk to the station. When we came out of the apartment however, the owner was waiting in his car to give us a lift to the station which was so kind.
One thing to note is that there was no hot water but given the hot weather, this was not a big issue for us.

Realmente nos sentimos muy alagados con sus palabras y por hacer público este comentario, nuestros mayor interés es que los huéspedes puedan sentirse cómodos y por ello nuestra atención es personalizada.

Great value and service in a perfect location!

After staying a few nights up the hill at Hotel Chantal we had to find someplace closer (the taxi fare up and back was killing us) and cheaper (backpacking around for a few months now, we can't really afford the luxury of mid-range hotels) place to stay for the next few nights. We were referred to Luis by our taxi driver after we'd asked if he could suggest someplace to stay when travelling on a budget. You can't beat the price, the room was perfect, and the shared spaces are welcoming, cozy, and safe. Luis is very friendly and can speak English really well. He has obviously put a lot of work into this place and prides himself on being available for guests if ever they need anything. It is very close to the beach and the main strip of shops, restaurants, and pubs in town. Highly recommend and would definitely go back to stay there if ever visiting Playa Del Coco again!
