A wonderful vacation

A wonderful vacation for the whole family. Very courteous staff, always smiling and helpful. Wide selection of food and beverages in the restaurant. There is a tavern and a bar besides the restaurant. The spa is also suitable for young children. Very clean and maintained in the rooms. We will be happy to visit again.

Hotel Ismena

The location, the architecture and the landscaping are great, but that's it! The rooms are not well cleaned, the pool and spa, where children are allowed smell of bleach and also do not look very clean. The restaurant offers dishes cooked with imitation products, provided that they are located in Devin, where there is real cheese and dairy products! Our towels were not changed and the room was not cleaned after a maid entered. The beds are very dilapidated and uncomfortable. They write that there is a children's corner, but it's just a dirty room with a few cluttered broken toys! This hotel does not meet its stars and we would never visit it again!

Be careful with the choice of house in the complex

Last year has been very disappointing regarding the hotel and restourant services in Bulgaria due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This year my family have made booking for a Delux house in the complex Ismena in May for August with the hope, that will receive correct tourist service. Two days ago we have come in the complex at 19 o'clock in the evening. After the dinner in the restaurant, which has been excellent at a fair price, we have gone to the house. And during the whole night, there have been very unpleasent sound. On the next day it has been cleared, that this sound comes from the new SPA center below the house. And it could not been stopped, because it is connected with the ventilation system! They could not offer us and another house, because everything have been full. During the day there have been and louder sounds from the jacuzzi in the SPA center. When I have made the booking I have not been informed, that the house is above a SPAcenter and there will be such a noise! I'm VERY DISAPPONTED from this uncorrect attitude. There was and a problem with the housekeeping - they have come to clean the house at 15:00 in the afternoon, because the complex was full and they didn't have time to come earlier! What to say - bad serbice for a lot of money! VERY DISAPPOINING! And always ask which house will be booked for you. Never choose house 15!

Very nice place with a great spa.

Very nice staff overall and the front staff is great. If you speak English, however, it is a challenge especially in the winter as we found out. The rooms are large but you do need to share a common room. Very strange too that they have a great kitchen but don't allow you to cook. That did prove to be an issue as we wanted to save money and this would have helped. Rooms are clean but beds are super soft and a bit painful if you have a bad back. I love walking so I did not mind the climb up the stairs but I can see how it could be difficult for older folks. Parking is very difficult.

Hidden gem in the Rodope mountains

When you drive by you dont get the impression of a great hotel. But when you get inside everything changes from astonishing decoration to old traditional Bulgarian buildings with a modern look. Everywhere you turn mountains and beautiful nature
