Good place in center of Gabs

We stayed two nights, we had two rooms. The price was perfect, the rooms comfortable despite the basic attire, it was clean and the breakfast was satisfying. There is a good parking space. The hosts are friendly and efficient, the service is good. Just a few minutes walk from the Main Mall, where we did some local shopping and my husband had a haircut. Definitely a recommended stay for center Gabs. Would not have missed this.

Bed n breakfast with no breakfast

I specifically booked the place because they offered breakfast, but in the morning I was told the breakfast person was not around, left around 8am still no show. I was not happy...Had to go spend money at Wimpy for breakfast..

Very close to "The Mall"

I always want a hotel where I can walk to the city center, in this case called "The Mall". We were given a room which was spacious enough for the both of us, nothing fancy but adequate. We slept well, the city is quiet once it gets dark outside, so no major noise from traffic or nightclubs. Breakfast is included and we took advantage of this, the food was made to order and the coffee was good.

Cheap Accommodations for inside the city, nothing special

We came in after dark by bus and this was the closest place we could find on short notice.The place is kinda old but the location is amazing. Right by a mall where you can find anything and within walking distance of major places. The kitchen had no food so we went to sleep hungry so don't bet on the food in this place. It was a comfortable sleep though.

Perfect location, mediocre accommodations, poor management

We spent two nights in a twin room (though we had reserved a double) in the main lodge and found it adequate but certainly nothing special. Some of the staff were friendly, others surly, but all were pretty clueless. The location is indeed perfect, within walking distance or a short, cheap cab ride of most anywhere you might want to go in town. The area seemed safe, even at night, and was quiet enough to get a good night’s sleep, even with the windows open.
The room itself was clean and had a somewhat fresh coat of paint, but the fixtures were all pretty shabby, even given our usual budget-hotel expectations. The beds were comfortable, though, and the WiFi and television worked pretty well. Our room also had a refrigerator and kitchen sink, though no cooking facilities.
We had reserved ahead of time (via email) and had set up a taxi pickup which never materialized. We ended up getting our own after calling the hotel and ascertaining that they hadn’t actually made the arrangement.
We had been promised that dinner would be available as long as we arrived by 9:30. When we arrived around 8:00, we were told that there was no food in the kitchen. Further negotiations produced a couple of fried eggs and toast. We had also been promised that some sort of take-away breakfast could be arranged for us on the day of our very early departure, but that, too, never panned out.
Upon checkout, the woman at the front desk tried to charge us the higher twin-room rate but relented when I produced proof that we had actually reserved a double room and been quoted the lower price.
All in all, I would recommend Brackendene only insofar as it’s the only centrally located budget option in Gaborone, and I wouldn’t count on them for any transportation or meal arrangements.
