Great place for kids!
We stayed at Villa Parrot with our four children and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the outdoor shower was a truly special experience. I highly recommend the delicious and generous breakfasts prepared by the wonderful team on site. The location is ideal for exploring Toledo. Thank you to Marisa and the entire team for the warm welcome!

A place you'd love to come back to
These cozy cabins in the beautiful Toledo District in southern Belize are certainly worth to consider for anybody who loves a natural get-away. Thomas and Marisa and their children were wonderful hosts, and make every guest feel very welcome.
Sun Creek Lodge is located not too far from several waterfalls, caves and Mayan archeological sites, as well as a 20 minutes drive from the small coastal town of Punta Gorda.
For food options we certainly recommend to get breakfast at Sun Creek Lodge. Marisa makes the best German breakfast rolls (Brötchen) you can find in Belize, just amazing. For lunch or supper you can check Southern Eats, which is like a 5 minutes drive from the lodge. They serve excellent authentic Belizean cuisine, or you can drive to Punta Gorda and get a super-nice woodoven pizza from Cenaida's Seaside Café.

Jungle lodge with adventure guarantee
Experience an adventure holiday, our motto. The Sun Creek Lodge, a fantastic place to experience nature in its purest and most authentic way. We had booked the beautiful Parrot Villa for 5 days and decided to spend more time in the Toledo District. Not Placencia, but Punta Gorda or
San Marcos and the Sun Creek Lodge. Marisa and Thomas were super nice hosts. Wonderful freshly prepared meals with ingredients from their own garden. Ice cream always works - our slogan and so we were treated to delicious ice cream from the Mennonite community every day. Delicious. The lodge is a little paradise on earth and highly recommended.

Off the beaten path, and worth it!
Our cabana was really lovely and slept 5 of us comfortably. Breakfast was so delicious! Even my picky kids enjoyed the fresh fruit and eggs and pancakes. They were able to accomodate my Gluten Free diet, and there were cold drinks available round the clock at the Main House. Very Family Friendly, as this property is also family owned and operated! My children enjoyed being able to explore and to "help"- everyone was so nice and really genuinely treated us as welcome guests more than customers. We had some issues booking the wrong days to visit my brother in PG and Sun Creek was gracious about letting us change dates. The property is beautiful, we very much enjoyed learning more about the local flora and fauna... I saw on our last day that tours could be arranged for a fee- I would recommend taking one, just based on our talks with Thomas, I know it would be very educational and fun! I'm sorry I didn't sign us up for one.
We had a little issue with our water getting turned off, and it was fixed by putting us on the well- so we didn't have to live without for very long.
We had an open air outdoor bathroom (fully plumbed!) definitely a uniquely pleasureable experience to shower out of doors. I want one at home now, too!
We had a little bit of an adventure trying to find our way after sunset on arrival. I recommend coming in by the light of day the first time! Luckily, everyone is friendly and helpful- so we went back to the main road and asked at the Cool Place- and a nice gentleman on a bicycle showed us to our turn off.
We had mosquito netting on every bed, a small fridge and a coffee maker with coffee and filters in our room. Our porch had a hammock and couch and coffee table. The cabana was screened- which our kiddos discovered was even between the roof and the loft floor! The little adorable bats were happy to hang outside of them- which we liked as they help keep bugs under control! We saw birds, there were cows, dogs, lizards, and at least one frog eating snake- so many beautiful plants, trees, flowers! If they had had the availability we would have certainly wanted to stay longer!
I even forgot some items and they saved them so I could return before we left the district! Definitely recommend!

Great Hospitality and Rustic Charm
Marisa and Thomas are not just wonderful and very knowledgeable (about the region, country, sites, restaurants, etc) hosts, but created an immensely charming hotel with cabanas in the forest (for a great price too) in the interesting and fascinating Toledo region, and just a short (20 min) drive to Punta Gorda. Sun Creek was definitely the lodging highlight of my visit to Belize.
