Seem to have it off to a fine art

Perfect location on good weather, to sit outside and take in the general buzz of the harbour sand it’s never ending stream of tourists.
Had Fish and Chips, which were spot on.
Very tasty fish, and a rather unusual but delicious batter.
Couldn't fault anything
Well done
Must be hard keeping a high standard with a constant flow of customers.

Good food. Poor service.

We were excited to finally be able to get a coveted table at The Ship Inn. We booked early and were seated reluctantly by our server. After our drink order we were abandoned for nearly half an hour. The crew working, while nice, never looked up to the many guests seated for lunch. Always with head down, they passed back and forth until everyone seated had to ask for help. The food was great, but the team needs training! First, always look your customer in the face and keep smiling!
Such a shame for a wonderful spot by the water.

Nice family meal

We had a meal for 7 on Sunday and were fitted in with short notice. Plenty of choice, including gluten free options for the member of the party who has coeliac. The menu is clearly marked and I was advised there is a separate fryer in use. Overall very nice meal and there was something for everyone.

Wonderful food and service

We stayed next door in the flat that you can see to the right. We were 2 grandparents, 2 parents and 2 kids (3 & 1 year old). As we could not go out to eat dinner because of the young ones we explored take out food from The Ship Inn. They were wonderful, all of them. They even knocked on our door to let us know the food was ready. Everything was delicious and everybody was welcoming. The menu was varied and when we were able to go in for a drink the atmosphere was upbeat and comfortable. They made our lovely break so much more memorable. We are so grateful for their hospitality, good food and pleasant manner. Totally recommend them, a destination in itself.

Good to return

We like to have an overnight here every summer,and were not disappointed by the new management. Our favourite room with a wonderful harbour view was spotlessly clean and cosy,with a comfortable bed for a good night’s sleep and an excellent shower room.
We were especially impressed by dinner,on a very busy night for the staff which they coped with admirably. A Pint of Prawns was a fab starter and fun to share, fish and chips always a favourite, and a never ending pot of mussels which even I was unable to finish! Delicious puddings featuring local ice cream,I think from a legendary shop?
Puzzled by some adverse reviews, don’t let them influence you! We pride ourselves as discerning diners and were delighted.
