Clean, comfy and good value for money!
There is noise from the road but if that bothers you then I’d suggest not booking a hotel on a main road (we were not bothered by the noise).
Shower was good, shower gel provided.
We also popped into the bar for a couple of cocktails which were wonderful.
Would recommend!

Room allocated wrongly.
But same goes, regarding the shower. as another person wrote the shower is def faulty in room 11, it has obviously been faulty for some time and as the heat changes from regulated to freezing cold then scorching hot is a major dangerous fault. Time the issue was sorted!
Also having paid extra via booking.com for a superior room/king-size bed, with city view, being allocated room 11 with double bed, no room to swing a cat and brick wall views and no apology, refund or even a drink in compensation is pretty crummy.

Little gem of a hotel.
This hotel/ restaurant is spotless and very well decorated with a very nice feel about the place. The double room was very spacious with tea & coffee making facilities, nice decor and the bathroom was like brand new. Large wardrobe and very well presented.
Car parking is available either at the rear of this hotel or at the sister hotel 50 yards away and free.
On having a drink before attending our function nearby, the barstaff were excellent and friendly and the prices very reasonable. Although we didnt eat at the hotel, the menu looked very inviting and on seeing a few meals being served they looked very nice and well presented. Bit gutted we didnt get the chance to eat there.
Breakfast was served at the sister hotel the Golden Lion 50 yards down the street, and no issues with it at all. Spot on. The only downside was breakfast finished at 9am, so not much of a lie in and room to be vacated by 10am, maybe a bit too early after a boozy night for both breakfast and to be booked out by 10. Not a deal breaker just my personal opinion.
Overall this hotel is little gem and i would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to anybody else, and i cannot stress how accommodating the manager and his staff were on arriving, to being served and spoken to. Credit where credits due.
Could not fault this hotel, in the middle of the beautiful high street, great room and public areas and great service. We will be back for a weekend stay for sure.
