AMAZING!
My stay here in January was just wonderful.
The hostel was clean and welcoming, with snacks for breakfast every morning, lots of books to borrow or swap, and super detailed maps and information packs about the city (food, transport, attractions etc).
The hostel owner Annie is the most lovely soul; she was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her. Every morning she would help me plan my day based on what I was interested in, alongside her own experience and recommendations, and this helped me have the best week in Bangkok!
Thank you Annie and your family for being so welcoming and making this a week to remember!
Hopefully one day I will be back

I recommend this hotel to stay!
For a few days of staying here the owner and staffs guides me and helped me thoughtout my stay. They provided me all the facilities they can offer. Great location, a quite and extremely clean room to stay.

This Hostel was like my second home. Annie, the owner makes you feel right at home.
I have been staying at Chan Cha La 99 Hostel for over 2 years. This hostel has a cozy, warm, kind environment. The owner goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and she is super helpful.

Amazing little gem of a hostel
My boyfriend and I stayed here at the beginning of April, the hostel is situated about 30 mins drive from the airport, with great access to the sky train and other public transport.
When we arrived Annie was there to welcome us - she is adorable and literally made our stay! She is an amazing host, helpful, friendly and funny. Her hostel feels like a home away from home.
The rooms are clean and spacious, with A/C and comfy beds - what more do you need. The bathrooms were also impeccably clean and as there is 2 showers and 2 toilets on each floor we were never waiting to use the bathroom facilities despite it being shared.
Annie was always on hand to recommend restaurants/street food, places to visit, and for a chat!
She also provides jam, bread, butter and bananas, as well as tea, coffee and filtered water for guests to have. There is also a communal fridge where you can store food.
There are wash facilities available so guests can wash and dry their clothes for a small fee - we used this service and everything came out fine.
Overall I cannot recommend Annie's hostel enough. The place itself is clean, well situated and homely, right in the centre of lively Bangkok. However it is Annie that brings this hostel to life. From dropping a postcode off for us to teaching us how to communicate we are vegetarian, she was fantastic.

A Lovely Stay!
Annie is so hardworking, considerate, and helpful! Her hostel really feels more like a guesthouse. It's very clean and quiet, and if you're looking for a peaceful place to stay in Bangkok—look no further than here. My partner and I stayed in a double-ensuite room for three nights. The room was a bit small, but that is to be expected for the price and the location. It would have been fine for a solo traveler for a few more nights, but I think if you're traveling as a couple, it may be a bit cramped for longer-term stays.
The hostel is located right by the BTS, which makes it super convenient and easy to get around the city. If checking out the madness on Khao San Road is on your to-do list, there's also a bus stop right across the street, where you can catch an air-conditioned bus for 20 baht that will take you straight to Khao San Road. (Annie has tons of maps and will be extremely helpful in terms of telling you exactly how to get to wherever you need to go. She's also very detail-oriented, and she will go above an beyond to make sure you are aware of all the ins-and-outs for each option.)
There are a few 7-11's on the main road right by the hostel, and there's a Starbucks, a Tesco & Lotus with a food court, a Tom N Tom's coffee, and a small new mall at the next BTS stop (On Nut). (You can also easily walk there in about 15 minutes—maybe even a little less.)
The aircon worked quite well in our room—just needed to give it a few minutes to get going, and there were plenty of outlets in for charging. Hot water works well, and the water pressure is quite good. Annie provides free bananas, tea, instant coffee, and toast for breakfast. (But she politely requests that all eating be done in the communal area to avoid ants in the rooms). She also offers laundry services if needed. The WiFi is pretty good. We noticed it was much stronger on the first floor (communal floor) than on the fourth floor (where we were staying). I'm an English teacher who works online, so I really need strong, consistent connection in my room. While we were staying here, I needed to turn on my personal wireless router to teach. Just a heads up if you're in a similar situation. But also know that Annie is friendly and helpful enough that if you were in a bind, she'd probably find a way for you to plug in directly to the router.
All in all, a great find! For the price, facilities, and hospitality, I don't think it gets much better than Chan Cha La 99. Highly recommend! Thanks so much for everything Annie! :)
