Home away from home

Convenient location and yet quiet. This B&B is well located between the railway station (6 to 10min walk) and Zhongshan Road, the main thoroughfare in Hualien where restaurants and retail shops are located. Within 15-min walk to Mr Goose, Yellow Car Fried Spring Onion Pancake, ginger duck (hotpot), beef noodle shops, braised turkey meat, etc. The room size is big and the overall conditions match the official photos.It has a great coffee machine near the reception. Nothing beats a cup of freshly brewed coffee to kick start your day, better still, its free of charge. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. They can help you to book tours and car rental. They also offer free bicycles for guests to use. I highly recommend this B&B in Hualien.

Homely

Sweet clean homestay, with private large room and balcony. You can have use of large common area and cooking facilities too. However, I was at the stage in the holiday that I went to the shop opposite bought a bottle of wine and reflected and planned the next stage of the trip on my balcony
Breakfast was at the restaurant next door - fried egg sandwich for me, but pork & egg, ham & egg or potato salad all available.
Can’t go wrong.

Bedbugs

I was not planning to write this review, but my message to the hostel got no reply. We slept there for two nights in June, we had the room with the Copenhagen picture. While I can confirm everything that the other reviews say (the great location, the free fruit and bikes, the kindness of the hosts, the help to arrange a scooter) I also have to say that that room has bedbugs. I was bitten 40 times in 2 nights and I had a quite strong allergic reaction. I am taking antihistamine at the moment. I didn't write about the bedbugs in my review on Booking, I just gave the lowest rate for cleanliness and sent an email to the hostel to inform them about the bedbugs. Since I got no reply (not to apologise, or thank me for informing them, or to say that will do something about it), I am writing this review. Once again, the hostel is really nice, and I would recommend it - but maybe ask if the problem has been solved! I could add pictures of my legs, but I am not going to do it because they look a bit disgusting at the moment!

Recently refurbished and a nice owner

A recently refurbished hotel close to the train station. A perfect place to stay in.
The owners invited also us to have dinner with them! I think they are recently started with the property but they managed it really well.

Incredible Service

While the rooms here are truly fantastic, with a comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and plenty of space, we received the most amazing service that truly sets this place apart from the rest. Upon arrival we received fruit, water, cookies and snacks. We liked the cookies so much that we came back to find a box waiting for us! So kind! Unfortunately I left the pant bottoms from my Zip pants in the room after check out and realized this too late once I had left Hualien. They went the extra mile by shipping them across the country to another hotel where we stayed since we didn't plan to go back to Hualien again. Truly amazing service. Thank you so much again! Highly recommended!
