Cycling tour from Hamburg to Berlin

We have had a beautiful room and a spacious bathroom. Friendly service and a nice breakfast . Unfortunately the restaurant has been closed already a year because of covid and lack of personal . You might have to call a number at the door upon arrival to get a number that will allow you to get into the hotel . Nice parking for our bikes.

Surprisingly Good Hotel

We have stayed in hundreds of hotels big and small over the last few years and this hotel is surprisingly good. It is not fancy but it gives you the basics very well. The positives: very friendly and accommodating staff in reception and especially breakfast area, clean property and room, great water pressure in sink and shower, good room lighting, fresh smelling room, walking distance to several restaurants, quiet room except for traffic noise during the day with your windows open, table fan(good since no air conditioning and room is warm even on a cool day-why these places don't install ceiling fans escapes me) but make sure you ask for a fan-fans not in every room, secure bicycle storage in rear of hotel, wifi but not that strong on third floor, good breakfast buffet in a beautiful setting. The negatives: no air conditioning so ask for a table fan, wifi could be stronger. Bottom line-you'll have a good nights rest in a clean room.

The hotel that shuts up shop & leaves guests stranded...

We had booked to stay in this hotel as there were no other available in town... We had bike trouble and had to walk the last 26 km into town - arriving sore footed by 8:40pm. When we arrived at our hotel it was a Friday night & still light but the place was deserted & the restaurant closed.
The door had a bell to ring for service and a number to ring if you arrived after 10pm - neither of these worked.
We were stranded outside.
I rang my booking site Hotel Info.com who were very helpful - ringing the hotel contact numbers but still no answer, the young man then rang all the hotels listed in town but no rooms were available.
We were left contemplating a night sleeping rough.... A gentleman from the pension round the corner came to our rescue giving us the name of the pension. - Zur Elbaue who is the most organised hotelier in town - he rescues many stranded travellers (we met a couple that night).
Give this hotel a big miss!!!!
I cannot comment on the rooms & services as we did not gain access to them, but judging by the less than average reviews we had a lucky escape.
Try the wonderful Pensions in town they offer the most caring service.

best scrambled eggs between hamburg and dresden!

We stayed for a night in July 2014 while cycling the Elbe Radweg. Big room, functional bathroom, modern, huge windows, comfortable beds, excellent wifi and a fan ! The staff were helpful at all times. In fact, the hotel is probably the best thing about Wittenberge.

Great no fuss, spotless hotel.

Once again, we only stayed for one night as we travel the Elbe bike track. It was easy to find this hotel which is in a central location in Wittenberg. Staff were great, really friendly and check in was a breeze, we like that! Our room was big, nice bathroom, good view out the second floor window. There is a nice restaurant bar on the ground floor which we enjoyed until the kitchen staff started smoking! I find this intolerable and the hotel went down in my estimation as a result of this. And for this reason we decided not to eat in the restaurant for dinner. I can't believe staff are permitted to smoke on the premises and the smoke waft.ed out to the area in which we were sitting. Really poor PR! Other than that it's a great hotel. The hotel does have wifi, and it worked well.
