Very good

Very satisfied with our short stay, very good room service and restaurant service, the staff
is very professional and the hotel is very well located, especially since our room was
on the lake side, so no noise.

Aging hotel Too bad!!

So many parking spaces but without organization; therefore difficulties if you arrive in the evening.

A magnificent location, but a disappointing welcome and value for money.

It was our 3rd stay at the Hôtel des Princes, the first dating back 30 years! We chose this establishment for its location, its green setting, and its direct access to Lake Geneva, ideal for swimming. Unfortunately, this time will be the last; there will not be a 4th stay.
At €240 for a lake-view room, we feel that the level of service is clearly not up to the price asked.
Admittedly, the rooms have been renovated, but the comfort remains quite basic. The decor is minimalist, the room door still has that good old lock, so you have to juggle with a single key, the old wall closet deserves to be replaced, and the bedding is just average. The lack of soundproofing and the absence of air conditioning are regrettable, especially for an establishment of this category. As a result, we sleep with the window wide open, but the streetlamp that stays on on the balcony attracts insects... bites or heat, you have to choose!
A few details also disappointed us: the bathroom cups and those for the coffee machine are made of cardboard, which gives a rather low-quality impression. Regarding the welcome, they can clearly do better... we are dryly asked to pay for the room even before getting the keys! Want a drink on the terrace? We are sent to place our order at the bar to pay for our drinks before being served!
Finally, the decor of the lobby, somewhat outdated, also deserves to be modernized.
In summary, a nice location, but a deplorable welcome.

Disappointment despite a pretty setting

The setting is very pretty and the building is historic but a bit outdated inside and old-fashioned.
No air conditioning in the rooms at a rather high price.
No towel racks or large towels to dry off with in the bathrooms (at least one large and one small towel per person is missing... The towels are old as well...
An unhidden step at the entrance to the bathroom that hurt our feet.
The decor is old-fashioned and we fight in the morning for the only coffee machine...
The bedspread is rather miserable...
Given the size of the hotel, it would be welcome to have a little more comfort...
These are details that, put together, spoil the stay....

Hotel des Princes

Not very classy, this Hotel des Princes. Yet there is potential for this old waterfront hotel with a beautiful panoramic room, access to the lake via a pontoon and a private small harbor, and an excellent breakfast. But the potential is well and truly wasted by very borderline service (no doubt for the sake of economy, the manager and his wife seem to take care of everything: reception, service...). The street-side rooms are extremely noisy (no double glazing) and visibly neglected. In ours, the shower was either scalding or freezing, the hair dryer was broken, and the toilet was leaking: they offered to move us to a neighboring room half the size, and the manager just shrugged when I pointed it out. In short, none of this is scandalous, but perhaps worse: mediocre, unfriendly, and a boorish owner. Moreover, they ask you to pay for the room upon arrival, which is not a good sign.

La manière dont vous vous êtes comporté à l'arrivée, au restaurant et le lendemain n'est pas classe du tout. Réfléchissez, si je fais payer les clients au moment du check-in, c'est pour une raison.
