Like I jumped into a beautiful painting
You are essentially renting the view and the cabin is secondary. This is not a luxurious hotel. This is a front row seat to Lofoten with a comfy bed (if you pay the premium price to have a cabin right on the water).
We set our expectations accordingly so the entire experience exceeded our expectations. We drove from Tromsø and spent one night in Svolvaer so we could have a relaxing day on our way deeper into Lofoten. We timed it perfectly to check in right at 3:00. We had a hybrid rental so we never had to worry about charging the car, but there are a number of chargers in the parking lot.
The view stole the show but soon I realized the rest of the cabin was actually nice. Very clean and in great condition. The bathroom is basic but functional and I was grateful that the shower was enclosed and not the half-wall type. There is a stopper for the sink and hair dryer in the mirrored medicine cabinet. Use your hot water wisely. Bring your own shampoo/conditioner/soap because they only have basic soap dispenser soap.
It was nice to have the little kitchen. There is a coffee pot and kettle. Pick up your own coffee/tea/milk because they don’t provide any in the room. Housekeeping isn’t included but for a short stay you don’t need it.
There are wall-mounted heaters in both the bedroom and living room. We were very comfortable. You can also open the windows a few inches if you want fresh air.
WiFi worked great.
The property has a few dining options. The bakery opens at 8 AM and closes around 3:00 so it’s a great option if you don’t need a big breakfast. I believe they also have a breakfast offering but we didn’t try it. There is a fish & chip cart for lunch and a bar cart that share a little outdoor seating area and an open museum building with tables as well. The star is the new Krambua restaurant. Such a vibe! One of the best meals I’ve had in ages. Everything was outstanding. Best to book in advance because you don’t want to miss it. I think it might be closed Mondays.
There’s no tv. Watch the view instead.
Our trip was in August. Arrival day was a mix of weather but rainy, cold, and windy for parts. The bad weather didn’t matter because we had the view and it was so moody and atmospheric. Day two was brilliant sunshine.
If you’re mobility challenged check to see how the cabin you selected can accommodate you. There are ramps from the parking lot up to the decking where some of the waterside cabins are located. There was one step up to get into our cabin.
Part of the allure is the serenity. Children are welcome but as someone who raised four kids I would only bring children who are able to act appropriately and respectfully in this environment. The cabins are also surrounded closely by water so consider that in your safety calculations - in other words you’ll want to be vigilant about watching your children, especially those with no concept of water safety.
Please be considerate if you are a smoker. The hotel takes fire risk seriously based on signs in the room. If you need to smoke please do it in the parking lot. We had the window opened and a neighbor sat on the waterside bench between our rooms to smoke. Rude and antisocial behavior to foul the Arctic sea air we all came to enjoy. So please find a spot well away from others.
There are a few places for improvement. For the price you are paying some basic shampoo/conditioner/body wash could be provided, as well as coffee and tea. They could also more clearly communicate all of the dining options and opening hours. The lunch wagon served some of the delicious soup from Krambua but they don’t include bread with it during lunch - for that price throw in a few slices of bread to make it more of a meal. Their app is nice but currently the Q&A section is empty.
Another random tip if you rent a non-electric car. We tried to get gas in Reine and the pump wanted a PIN number which our bank insisted we wouldn’t need. Another driver had the same problem and drove away. Just walk inside and pre-pay before you pump your gas.
Our room choice delivered the experience I wanted so I’ll score it 5/5.

Nice but misleading photos
Photos on their website and booking.com are very misleading. The traditional one-bedroom cottage we had was very inferior to the photos they show online. The room was cramped and right next to the noisy parking lot.
The onsite restaurant was very good and the staff are very friendly, although the menu is very limited.
But if you want a far superior rorbuer experience, I would highly recommend the Svinoya Rorbuer in Svolvær.

Cosy cabin
We had the breakfast option, would say it was middling. Dinner at Krambua was exceptional (separate review). Tip - buy wine from a local Vinmonopolet, there is no bar. And bring coffee / tea bags.
