A hidden gem in the streets of Lucca

I have only one disappointment with this B&B and that was that we weren’t staying there longer!
Throughout the booking and the stay, the owner was extremely helpful and recommended some lovely restaurants to visit locally as well as providing a warm and welcoming stay within his establishment.
Rooms are beautifully decorated and have some of the nicest amenities I’ve seen from a hotel and an Italian style breakfast which he provides with some of the local delicacies to try.
The B&B is in a quiet street in Lucca but is a short walk from the main tourist hotspots. After a long day out sightseeing you can come back here and relax on the private terrace with a glass (or two!) of wine from the selection provided - all of which are provided on a trust basis.
When we’re back in Lucca I won’t hesitate than to book this place again!

GianPaolo was a super host- very welcoming friendly and chatty. He made recommendations of places to go to and to eat and nothing was too much trouble.
The breakfast was very varied and filling.
The room we were in was very clean and well kept with all amenities you could want.
It’s hard to believe that GianPaolo has only had the b&b for 2 months- everything was just perfect. This is such a find and I have already recommended him to friends who are thinking of going to Lucca- we will definitely go back.

The host was very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was fresh and provided a good variety of foods.
The room was clean and quiet. Close to many attractions.
We would definitely stay again.

50th Anniversary Trip

Giacomo, host and owner, greeted us on our arrival from Florence Airport. He helped with our luggage and gave us a tour of his charming B&B, accompanied by a loyal and wonderful dog named Guillermo. The dining area and all rooms are updated and fit the character of this wonderful town. The outdoor patio was the perfect spot for our daily Happy Hours. The oleander flowers on the patio provided a beautiful, serene setting. This B&B is centrally located to shops, restaurants, and historic sites. Giacomo gave us many suggestions for restaurants and local activities. One of our favorites was cycling the wall around this historic town. Giacomo went out of his way to provide a memorable experience for us in this hidden treasure of Lucca. We strongly recommend B&B Corte Toro. A highlight each morning is the freshly baked cake and pastries served in the dining area.

The owner (César I think said his name was) left us on the street with the bags carrying a reservation.

The worst experience of our life, we arrived there from 14 hours, having warned by email that we would arrive from that time and when we were ringing the doorbell we are approached by an individual who claims to be the owner and tells us that he does not expect anyone. We show him the reservation and he starts to make aspersions saying he doesn't recognize it. Then I tell him that as it is possible that he is scamming us and starts screaming that we have no reservation and leaves us in the street with the bags with the phrase have a good day, that is to say there you stay and he left. This is a reasonless one and even if there had been some unforeseen or mistake it could have offered us a solution. I hope you take this into account before booking here. The agency has asked for explanations and has not responded to them today that more than 15 days have passed since the fact. I hope that in the future this individual will do according to his way of proceeding.
