Disappointing Stay at Lal Kothi Hotel
My experience at Lal Kothi Hotel was far from pleasant. The power kept cutting off frequently, making it incredibly frustrating, especially in cold weather. The hotel was also very dirty, with poor maintenance and cleanliness standards. To make matters worse, the breakfast options were extremely limited.
The only saving grace was the electric blankets, which provided some warmth during the cold nights. However, that alone is not enough to make up for the overall poor experience. I would not recommend staying here unless major improvements are made.

First of all we are very sorry for any inconvenience
Sir you have mentioned about power cut which is nor al in all over kashmir but we have backup and it takes 2 to 3 minutes to start and every one knows that after power on off how much time Ac start working it takes 5 to 10 minutes and both Ac and electric blanket are working on power when electric blanket was working then why heating system will not work .but at the time of booking you are checking cheap hotel rent and once you booked then you are demanding 5 star hotel service as the time of booking we have understand you all things that heating will start from 5 pm till 9 am more and you were demanding round the clock heating facility which is possible only on full teriff.
At last we are again sorry for any inconveniences caused from our side we will definitely try to solve these issues in future.

Good view of the snow-capped mountains, however, avoid this hotel, if possible!
The views from the hotel are wonderful. We stayed there during Nov 1st week, it had snowed heavily the previous day, and hence there was too much of snow everywhere. The room heaters provided could be better, the electric blanket used to help us keep warm only one portion of the bed. The room heaters were switched off during the night hours after 10 PM when it was most required. Agreed, that the power cuts were to be blamed, however, it could have been better handled. The bathrooms were not clean, the doors and the latches are very old. Some of the bathroom doors/frames were almost hollow due to termites. In all, suggest you avoid this hotel, if you can.
The staff is warm and helpful, however, they do demand for a huge amount of tips assuming tipping (asking for a huge sum of money is their right), which is actually a put off for any traveler, after a pathetic experience.

Sir As you have mentioned that there is lot of power cut,these problems are faced not only by we people but whole Kashmir in winter but we have generator backup on which whole heating system is running.
